Nothing like taking in your car for inspection and finding out it needs $300 worth of new brakes, rotors, and windshield wipers.

*sigh*

I'm just lucky I'm financially flush right now, I suppose. (Thank the Flying Spaghetti Monster for that severance package, that's all I'm sayin'.)

Heeeee.

Spotted on Not Always Right, set in a bookstore ...

(A guy comes in looking a bit haggard.)

Me: “Hi sir! Can I help you find something?”

Customer: “Let’s move to the back of the store.”

(He takes my arm and we walk to one of the last shelves of the store.)

Customer: “I need a book on immortality.”

Me: “All right - we’ve got science fiction over here…”

Customer: “No, I need to research immortality. I’m immortal. See this scar on my neck? A guy cut me a couple days ago and it’s almost healed. I’m immortal.”

(I stare at the large cut on his neck that is laced together with stitches).

Me: “Um, I’m not sure if we have any books like that.”

Customer: “Well, can you buy me a sword from the store next door?”

Me: “I’m sorry, I’m not allowed to do that.”

Customer: “I promise I’ll pay you back. I’ll give you my ID so you can track me down later and everything. I need a sword.”

Me: “Really, I could get fired for that.”

(The customer looks up and then starts sniffing the air.)

Customer: “They’re coming. I have to go!” *runs out of the store*

... my current word counts on the three story files I have open right now.

The Hollow Girl:

10323 / 100000

Blood Red Carpet:

2751 / 100000

Nearly Departed:

4557 / 100000

Theoretically I've got to get 2,000 words done on any or all of them today, since I didn't get a thousand words written yesterday. Also, I really need to relabel the accordion file I have so I can try and see if I can pull off a chapter a day.

Yuck.

I am stuffed full of mini-pierogies and kielbasa and I am on my third Smirnoff. Clearly this is not a good day if I'm resorting to Polish food and my favorite alcoholic beverage to feel better.

The bright side is that maybe I'll get lucky and pass out after the new SPN so that I won't be tempted to read anybody else's reaction posts. I love this season, flaws and all, and it's depressing me that a lot of people don't and that liking Castiel, in the right circles, is apparently equivalent to wanting to set Jared on fire, shove Misha into his spot, and plead not guilty because of the unfortunate insanity that's driven you to enjoy the holy tax accountant in the first place. I mean, to each his/her own, but I'm really starting to think that the way I'm starting to feel about being in this fandom is the reason why I'm blanking on my Bigbang and probably won't end up writing anything at this point. I am just not in a happy place with this fandom, you guys.

On the plus side, thanks to the Danneel wank, every time I hear "Friday Night" by Lily Allen, I'm just going to picture Danneel being kickass and beating the crap out of fangirls. Dude, I didn't even LIKE her before this. (I didn't hate her, either. Mostly I just thought, "Oh, honey, I don't envy you THAT job," and ogled her boyfriend. Other than THAT ...)

SO. I sat down today to write in one of the three stories I've got open on my desktop ... aaaaaand I ended up starting another one I probably won't finish. FML.

I'm also downloading the first season of Leverage. I already saw most of it that one day there was that marathon, but I want to catch up with the rest. I already know I loved it, I just ... you know, have gaps. :)

Oh, yeah, and I managed to download Drastically Redefining Protocol onto my MP3 player, which is exactly what I didn't need to do if I ever want to get anything done. Le sigh.

... I am seriously tempted to write SPN fic.

I KNOW.

But ... but ... spoiler )

I think I may just go to bed, though, because I am thoroughly wrung out.
