To give you all some idea ...
Sep. 30th, 2009 08:45 pm... of how well my grandparents have been paying attention to this end of their family, they sent me a birthday card. They sent it to my parents's house.
I have officially been living in this apartment for four years now as of this week.
And before anybody asks, no, this wasn't some diabolical scheme for them to make a point to my parents that they really do care deeply about the grandchildren who AREN'T my cousin. They sent it there because they still don't know where I live and they were too lazy to call my parents and ask or were too chicken to admit they don't know.
Boy, I can't imagine how I got this cynical when it comes to my family. *sigh*

I cannot WAIT until I can afford to go grocery shopping again. I have, like, NOTHING left. It's so helpful this week that I'm working at a place where I get free meals.
Speaking of my job, they have bookmarks in the gift shop to denounce Dan Brown as a liar for everything in The Da Vinci Code. That was the first real atheist/fannish moment I've had since I started there, because the whole tone of the thing was like this great big shipping war. "HDU ship Jesus/Mary Magdelene! Jesus/God! Deitycest shippers unite! WOOHOO! No, I will NOT read and review your shitty AU fanfic, Dan fucking Brown. HMPH."
