-- Let me preface all of this by stating that today is FIRED. Twice.

-- My mom gave me a ride to work today. My brother got into a fight with her before she left the house so that by the time I got custody of her it was like being locked in the car with a hungry wolverine. I had no choice but to play up my nervous joking to try and loosen her up because she was livid.

The best part of the ride was when she was driving about 30 MPH down a barely plowed stretch with a line of cars behind her, none of which had honked their horns or attempted to pass her.

Mom: *grumbling* Yeah, yeah, you fuckers, you say anything about how slow I'm driving and I'll stab you.
Me: Mom, they're in another car. If they say something about how slow you're driving, you won't be able to hear them.
Mom: *death glare*
Me: ... :D

-- Oh, and my parents are "making" me go get snow tires this Saturday whether I like it or not. And had a fit that I supposedly never said anything about needing new ones. When I pointed out that I told Bryan that I wanted new tires on my car while at least one or both of them were in the front seat (I can't remember if it was Thanksgiving or what, but I know I said it recently in front of them because I figured I'd drop the hint and see if I got a nibble for Christmas), they both sorta grumbled and backed down.

-- Ugh, I really need to find a part-time job. I cannot handle this being-broke shit anymore, I really fucking can't. Which is great, because considering how long it took me to find a full-time job, finding a part-time one should be a breeze. *eyeroll*

-- Why is it taking so looooooong for my new MP3 player to get heeeeeeeere? *whine* For heaven's sake, I could have walked there and back to get it in the amount of time it's taking to ship it.

-- Aaaaaaaand for anybody who is wondering, my purse contained (and still contains) two editing drafts, three paperbacks, two notebooks, and seven pens. Although one of those editing drafts is finished (for the moment; when I get more printer ink it's time for Round Two), so it's making a fond farewell from my purse as of right now. The other, however, already has more red ink on the first three pages than the other draft had on the first ten chapters. URGH. There's a reason why I've been avoiding editing GPW, and this is why.

Because the power was out, I took the opportunity to clean my apartment.

The moment I finished off my last chore by hanging up the last of my clean laundry, the power came back on.

You guys. You guys.

... I think my mom can control electricity.
