apocalypsos: (i'm walking in the doorway)
So I just realized something. My upper right arm is bare. Of tattoos, I mean.

I've been saving my upper right arm for the first time I get published. The plan is, the first story which gets published (or any public showing, I suppose, considering my current options) gets a starring role on my arm.

All things considered, the Books of Boggs is probably going to get that spot.

I THOROUGHLY APPROVE. :D

I have a tank top that says this, and it's always been true. Every time I think of people writing fanfic about my stuff, I start smiling so hard my face hurts.

There are certain characters in the Books of Boggs that I would totally be slashing if it weren't my story, and if it weren't for the fact that I will never, EVER be writing about them hooking up.

That said, half of the fun of that is that I can provide plenty of slashy fodder for those who DO want to write those pairings. Because I'm both evil AND helpful. Heh.

I have spent the entire week trying to sit down and go through the other nine books in the series and what I've gotten planned for them so far and I've been failing miserably. It would help if I'd get up off my lazy duff and get my damn computer homework done already, but I still have two more assignments to work through and it's the cover-letters-and-resumes chapter and I'm zoning out a bit.

That said, I should point out that the current chances of it going up on Amazon are at, like, 99.99%, because there's one more other option being explored and until then the book stays unpublished. But I still consider the chances of it going up on Amazon that good because, well, hi, I'm not a big fan of counting my chickens when it comes to my writing anyway, so the fact that I'm even giving myself THAT much of a chance of the other option working out is me being optimistic. I'm really, really ridiculously happy that there IS another option to explore at this point, but I'm pretty much just happy it exists at all. If it works out, great! If it doesn't happen ... well, off to Amazon I go. It's all good either way. :)

Also, I really need to figure out how to self-publish the thing on things that AREN'T Kindle. So there's that to do as well.

Aaaaaaand now there's a tag for this disaster. Heh.

FML.

apocalypsos: (i think that's going to leave a mark)
I stopped at Wal-Mart on the way home and picked up a pair of cheap black bookshelves, came home, lugged both boxes upstairs, dragged the old computer desk out into the office from the living room, opened the first bookshelf, assembled it, spent a good half-hour going through my paperwork tossing out old story notes and drafts and whatnot, put my notebook collection and disaster books and reference books on the shelves, dragged my five full garbage bags worth of spring cleaning out to the curb, came back upstairs, plopped down on the floor to put together the second bookshelf ...

... aaaaaaaand discovered that not only had I grabbed a bookshelf that must have been returned to the store, but I grabbed one where one of the boards had a broken corner and the nails, screws, and directions were all missing.

URGH. Talk about stopping my ferocious cleaning spree dead in its tracks.
