It's Public Drunkenness Day in Scranton, I'm not drinking, and a third of the people crammed into the Bog are firefighters in uniform.

So now that I'm back from the parade and have gotten a chance to take a nap, I've been delving into the Japan earthquake situation, which is just awful all around. I'm sure you've seen the links to the usual charities and auctions going on and I know that all of you are giving what you can. (I'm lucky enough this time around that I got paid my bonus this week and can afford to chip into Doctors Without Borders.)

But on a more personal level, it appears [personal profile] honorh is still missing. People seem to be doing what they can to help find her, so cross your fingers that we can find her safe and sound.

So my great-uncle (who's practically an extra grandpa at this point) had a heart attack the other day. He's already had a triple bypass four years ago, and now they're going to wriggle a catheter through his arteries to clear the bad stuff out. So, yeah, speaking of crossing fingers ...

I was going to stay up and working on the books, but I think I needed the nap a little desperately at this point. But now that I'm up, I'm going to shoot out a few status-report emails, FINALLY get my damn outline typed up, and hopefully figure out what I need to do to get the second book done as well.
