A few things at random
Apr. 12th, 2011 09:31 pm-- So I took Simon back to my parents' house this morning. I wanted to keep him, but Otis was just not having it at ALL and it wasn't getting any better. Last night, I kept getting woken up because he was under the bed growling at Simon all night long.
By the way, you have never heard a sound as ridiculous as the one Simon makes when placed in -- or rather, awkwardly manhandled and shoved into -- a cat carrier. If you've never heard an angry Siamese, consider your ears blessed. Imagine, if you will, the sound a consumptive foghorn would make if strangled in mid-yodel.
When I walked out of my building with the carrier, two ladies paused in getting out of their car at the nearby dealership lot and called out, "He just does not like being in there at all, does he?" No ... no, he doesn't not.
I called my mom on my break and asked her how Simon was doing back at home. She promptly informed me he and Wyatt got into a hideous fight when she went home for her lunch break. So, er, things are back to normal, I guess? *sigh*
-- Speaking of Otis, I bought a kitty house with a cubby and a perch this weekend and Otis has decided the cubby is all his. Granted, as of this morning, it genuinely is all his, but still. He hasn't left it since I came home, and possibly since I left this morning.
-- I got to go chocolate-shopping today! I love having an excuse to hit the outlet store. Granted, I hit the other local outlet store the other day and will probably hit it again at the end of the week, but whatever. Mmm, chocolate. I don't even care if it's chocolate that's not for me. That's almost even MORE fun. :)
-- Would anybody be willing to take a look at my depression Powerpoint and tell me if there's anything I could polish up? I feel like I might have put too much information into the Powerpoint itself, and I'm worried about the two attributed stats I put in there. This is the absolute last thing I have to do in my IT class -- my final is open-book and online -- and it's the first Powerpoint I'll be using in my speech class. Unsurprisingly, the speaking part is more important for the speech class and the Powerpoint itself is more important for the IT class, but I think the Powerpoint is fine where it is and my professor knows I'm good on the stuff I didn't include.
-- I need to answer comments and emails. Urgh. Why is that always the last thing I can summon up the energy to do when I genuinely do want to respond? *headdesk*
-- I am going to write more of those short original-character bits, seriously, and thank you so much to those of you who left nice comments. I'm planning to try and work on Cigarettes And Shambles this week, although I have a sneaking suspicion I'm just going to spend the rest of the week obsessing over my depression presentation.
-- Remember when I used to watch TV? What the hell happened to that? I still have one. I could swear I haven't even turned it on in a month. I blame Netflix and YouTube.
