I end up not being able to focus on the content because all I can think is, "I can see my house from here!" They shot the apartment building interiors in my old building (while I was living there) and a lot of the street scenes on my street (well, streets plural; my building was on a corner).
FWIW, the crew and the director-on-location were all really nice people! (They had to stop shooting sometimes to let residents go through the lobby and up to our apartments.)
I just posted about this too; it was on Jezebel. I read some spoilers for the book in the comments there and while I hope the movie does well, I don't think I can take reading the book, and I wonder what from the book will be in the movie....
Yeah, that's where I got it from. And those spoilers ... I'm of the mind where I really want to read a book before I see a movie made from it, but I'm really wondering if I'm going to be able to handle it if I do this time.
...wow. Going to have to see that one. I don't read much anymore, which is a shame. Have a feeling it's going to wreck me. First time in awhile a trailer's gotten me crying, but then a few parts hit a bit close to home--for a lot of people, I'm sure.

Date: 2009-05-14 08:30 pm (UTC)I actually have this book on my to-read list though I don't even remember how it got there. Moved the book to the top of the list just now.
