It probably wasn't the best idea, but I fired off an angry, "Oh, THANK YOU for allowing my gay friends to exist!" email to him before digging up my own state senator's email and urging him to vote against a same-sex marriage ban. Doubt it'll work -- stupid backwards state -- but I had to vent somehow.

I take that train -- I was on the one behind the one that collided. If I'd left work five minutes early, I'd have been on it. As it was, it took me 3+ hours to complete my 55-minute commute home but I'd much rather that than have been on one of those trains!
