Okay, I need to ask this because I've been seeing you post about your brother's comedy do-dah and I've been doing open mike nights in London for a few months now - what's the set-up? Because here, generally, there aren't many "put your name in a hat and we'll let you up" nights (they are proliferating slightly, I admit), you have to email people and ask them to take a chance on your and it takes months for your slot to come round. What's the deal over there?
Oh, our comedy club is really tiny and really doesn't get much of an audience on open mike nights, so they're very casual about letting people up as far as I can tell. I've already been warning my brother I might do it one of these days, too, so I've pretty much got an in through him. Even if I had to wait to do it, I doubt I'd have to wait that long thanks to him.
Oh, yeah, of course. My brain keeps assuming everyone else in the world lives in a stupidly big city as well. *cough* Small comedy club sounds like a delight, though. Does this mean you get extra props for bringing more audience?
