The nice thing about living in a small town is when you run down to the post office to mail a couple of things and your mailman, who's just leaving, says, "Oh, hey, Jenn," and hands you your mail.

The yucky thing is when he's handing you a rejection letter from the really nice warehouse job.

I don't think he would have taken it well if I had burst into tears right in front of him.

I fucking HATE this. The thing I'm most qualified to do is write novels and apparently I can't even get THAT job. And my next unemployment check is my last before the extension. If I even get the extension. Considering my luck lately, I wouldn't be surprised if I got a personal letter from whoever's in charge of people getting extensions denying me one, possibly while making fun of my haircut, informing me those shoes are SO two years ago, and pointing out that at this point in her unemployment stretch JK Rowling had, I imagine, sold the first Harry Potter book for eleventy-eight bajilliony-million dollars and a pony to boot.

I need to go edit something. I'll stop feeling like I'm going to cry if I edit something. Hmph.

EDIT: Oh, and I realized yesterday just how close my next birthday is. I'm two months away from turning into a 32-year-old one-cat, single-jobless-woman romance-novel cliche. I highly doubt I'm about to drop through a dimensional rift, travel back in time, and marry a gruff Scottish lord who finds my weird behavior and personality quirks a refreshing change from saucy milkmaids or whatever.

OTHER EDIT: Also, I think I have a pinched nerve in my neck. It's certainly not a muscle that needs relaxing so that every movement of my head doesn't send sharp pains shooting up the left side of my head. OUCH.

OOOO EDIT: Hey, a small bright side! My uncle just called and he and my aunt will be taking the day bed frame next week! Woohoo! (Granted, this would be awesome news on any other day, but this is kinda two-steps-forward-after-ten-steps-back today. *sigh*)

sucks much. hopefully you will haz job soon.

also you know that you're never goign to be romance novel, you're more the sam rami's return to horror cautionary tale.
though maybe you can shank some horrible elder thing in the face. i always thought that movies like the grudge were lacking in shanking.

and i'm pretty sure jk was on the dole and living hand to mouth longer than that.

Chin up. My bro was outta work for almost a year. Got two extensions...then got a job last minute.

I had a romance cliche too. Told this guy I liked him, he rejected me, that Monday at work, got fired!

*hug*

Ugh. Been there, done that. Went all the way to Japan to jump-start my life. My advice? Do something radical. I understand South Korea needs English teachers.

Been there, done that. And it all sucks. I hope you find something. It just, all the suck just tends to brek a poor hapless job seeker, but... Keep going at it, something will come up.

Ooh, love it. Well, other than job-hunting drama, which is truly 30% of the population (including me), (just rubbish), I can only empathize with your situation because I'm not yet hypocritical enough to deny I might be in the same one.... and it's nice and comfy in here. <3

Ack, I'm sorry to hear about the job. Good luck sounds so cliche, but I really mean it - I wish you lots of luck on the job front!
