Too bad people will donate and the irony will go over his head, as well as many others. I wish I could take so much more glee in this.

Last semester I took a politics class, and for my final paper I had to use a documentary about the life of Lee Atwater as the key evidence in my argument about public opinion. This documentary was a combo of narration and interviews of people who'd known him, and one of those interviewed was the head of the McCain-Palin campaign. He explained very carefully to the camera that (paraphrasing, slightly), "Liberal elitists can't fathom why normal people would fight against their own political interests--it's called patriotism."

I dunno; this here seems more like Darwinism.

uhhhh...Whut?

At least it's somewhat of a confirmation for me that I am not making up the irony by most of the constituents in my town regarding healthcare...

Oh, that's just perfect.

On a similar, but not quite as funny, note, we had a guy write in to the Post-Gazette the other day to complain about socialized healthcare and then also praise the way his heart operation was handled. And guess what program is giving him health insurance?

The guy does have insurance, that's what I read elsewhere. So on top of everything he's committing fraud. Not so amusing maybe, if just as nasty.
