I'm pretty much with you on this feeling! I'm working on new pitches for my agent at the moment, after a year of getting one novel into shape to send out to editors, only to hit them just as everyone stopped buying anything, and then another year of working on something we've finally just agreed is never going to work... and my cousin's novel was published last week, and everybody I've ever met keeps asking 'how's the book going?'

And on the one hand, I want to talk about what I'm working on, and bitch about how bloody hard it is, and on the other, I just want to say 'fine, thanks' and move the hell on.
