Hey, guess why I'm awesome?
Sep. 26th, 2009 06:41 pmBecause I got my laptop to work, that's why! \o/
Not the netbook, of course -- that still has to go to get a new hard drive put into it. My old laptop, however, works now, at least for the most part. I haven't tried out the CD drive yet, but the USB ports and the cable plug both work fine. (The wireless seems to be a lost cause but hey, beggars and choosers, right?)
Of course, I had to do PC Recovery on it, so I lost what was on the laptop before, but considering the only thing on the laptop I hadn't already saved on my Box.net account or put on the netbook a while ago and scrapped when I cleaned up my documents file a couple of weeks ago, the only thing I lost that I'll miss is all of Lost in Austen, which Lord knows I can always get back the same way I got it the first place.
So, yay! I have a laptop I can take with me to work for the next week or so until the netbook is dealt with. Granted, I won't be able to check the internet while I'm there, but I really didn't want to have to use the AlphaSmart considering the condition of the keys, so this is MUCH better.
It'll be really nice if my CD drive works now, though. If I can't get on the internet when I take this to work, it would be nice if I could at least turn on some music, and uploading all of my music is going to be the next thing I try out.
The downside right now is that my only working internet cable is, like, two feet long. I might as well be sitting on the TV cabinet next to the flatscreen. Heh.
