My lower back is KILLING me. I don't know what the hell I did to myself, but at the rate I'm going I'm going to have to take my last ten bucks and buy a Thermacare patch and even THAT won't work. I feel like someone took all of the nerves in my lower back and wrung them like a wet dishrag.

Oh, and for added fun, I'm going to have to call to file my unemployment because thanks to the netbook going down, I've lost my PIN number.

I'm trying to decide which would be worse right now, getting up from my seat and wallowing in the staggering pain, or staying somewhat comfortable but being unable to reach my phone, not calling unemployment today, and not getting my payment in time to make rent. Intense pain or being poor ... FML, that these are my choices right now.

Hon, I'm there with you as far as lower back pain goes. I've been having a lot of it myself, with no money for the Thermacare wraps or visits to my chiropractor. I just have to tough it out. I hope you get relief somehow, and soon.

Back pain blows, there's not a lot you can do about it but tough it out. If you have any ibuprofen, take that, and also I've found that filling a sock with dry rice and heating in the microwave works just as well at relieving the pain as any kind of special patch. As a bonus, you'll probably have extra rice leftover to eat.

I used to have mystery lower back pain with no idea what I'd done to myself to cause it. Then I finally noticed that if I'd been drinking a lot of water my back felt better, but if I'd had several Dr Peppers in one day and not much in the way of other liquids, my back would be killing me. So then I started making more of an effort to drink water (or cocoa, or juice, or whatever) on a regular basis, and lots of water if my back was acting up, because you really can just flush a kidney infection right out of your system.
