OH EMMA THOMPSON NO.
Oct. 7th, 2009 05:46 pm(She signed the Free Polanski petition, hence the title. I think that one gave me sadpuppyface more than any other.)
Also, the fact that Padma Lakshmi is pregnant gives me far more glee than it probably should. But it's Padma! Yay for Padma!
In less positive news, I only just got a phone message from Dell today to tell me that my netbook arrived at the repair center, which sucks because that means I probably won't see it again until next Wednesday, and that's if it's quick. Not that I don't appreciate the call. I don't recall Compaq calling me on the phone to give me a head's-up they got my laptop.
In any event, today was insanely busy at work. Every time I would sit down at my desk, I'd have to stand back up again for whatever reason. And I wonder why my back's still sore. And yet, I still somehow managed to add words to Heroine Addiction. Go figure. (I keep playing with ideas trying to come up with something else I like as much and I'm ... kinda getting there. We'll see.)
I wish I had something wittier or more intriguing to say of late. Where the hell did my social life go? *sigh*

Tis a sad sad day.

Date: 2009-10-08 03:28 am (UTC)Seriously, why are all these people tripping over themselves to support Roman Polanski? Is he that powerful? He's gotta have unflattering nude photos of the entire Screen Actors Guild or something.
Oh, wait, time out. Time out. "Ha ha, Sybil Trelawny is pro-rape!" Yeah, I saved it. Thanks, Wikipedia.

Date: 2009-10-08 09:16 pm (UTC)Forget losing his job, why isn't he being investigated by the police? I hope he is.
The fact that the woman who was raped says now she just wants to drop the whole thing is irrelevant. It's understandable that she just wants to get on with her life and not forever be known as `the girl who got raped by Roman Polanski', especially with the way that so many people defend him. Besides, he was convicted and sentenced. Her part is over, bar anything she may want to say at parole hearings. He needs to serve out that sentence plus time for skipping bail.
Is there a `Hang Roman Polanski up by his balls (and not in a fun way)' petition?
