Granted, I don't exactly know if I'd be able to pull it off, but I'd have no problem saying yes to that request. For pretty much anyone, really. The fact that I've never carried a child before might be a problem, though. I think if I remember correctly, that's one of the requirements for surrogacy -- that they need to know you've reliably carried one to term before.

Nobody in their right mind would ask me to carry a child for them. (If you think that sentence implies that my husband is not in his right mind, well...yeah.) However, I have actually *offered* our remaining embryos to someone, which I think counts as offering to help ;)

I think my health issues would entirely rule this out, and I wouldn't have kids of my own, either, partly because I don't want to pass on my cancer risk. But I've got no philosophical problem with the idea.

I thought about offering when someone very close to me was having trouble conceiving. Knowing that I'd never live down the virgin birth part of the equation would have made it hard to swallow, though.
