I am continually impressed by everybody who puts just as much time and effort into deciding which fandoms they can write for Yuletide as they do into the prompts they'd like to have written for them.

I sign up for everything. Or at least it feels that way. The vast majority of the fandoms I volunteer to write are movies, ones that I love and have watched more than a few times and only believe I need a quick refresher to write. You guys know me. That covers a LOT of ground.

I signed up for 57 fandoms this year.

See, this is why every time I get my assignment I'm always both amused and confused: amused, because I love a challenge, and confused, because there's always a moment where I go, "Wait, I signed up for that? Oh, okay, I guess I did."

And that would be how I end up writing Frequency, Drop Dead Fred, and Footloose fic for Yuletide. Hee.

I am the same way! I have 50+ fandoms, and no regrets. Hee!

Oh, I never have any regrets. I've loved all three of the stories I put out for those fandoms. I like the surprise and the challenge. :)

I had to redo my signup because I got a new fandom I love to pieces in the last week, so I also ended up paring down what I offered from 149 to 84. I'm always both surprised in the "oh, I offered that?" and excited because it's almost as much fun to wait and see what I get as an assignment as it is to get a gift fic :D

Yeah, I was VERY RESTRAINED this year, because I have 94587368475 other deadlines in the way, and only offered around 30 or so. But I mean, last year I wrote like six treats, and that was with household drama totally messing with me, and they all came out pretty good, so. AND that was after last year the fandom on which I matched, the prompt didn't speak to me, so I acquired source material for one I'd never heard of.

I do refrain from says "any" in some of them if I figure I have just no grip on one or more characters, but otherwise, eh.

I overdo it, then I scale back, then I overdo it again. All depends on how many times I change my sign up. I'm looking at changing it one more time as one of my requests has no one offering it, so waste of a slot and wouldn't want that...*G*

Knowing me, however, since I went conservative the second time I redid my sign up, so that means I'll probably go a little nutty with the offerings. :) Should be fun.

I still carry the Frequency story around on my palm so I can read it whenever I feel the urge for awesome fiction based on one of my favorite movies of all time which was written just for me. :-)

Maybe people are on to you! They think "Hmm, no one wanted to write 'Sledge Hammer!' fic this year. Give it to her, she'll never remember she didn't sign up for it."
