-- Cat's adorable, but that gold outfit has, like, five things I want to change.

-- I'm bothered by Ashleigh being injured, because I hope she gets better because I've grown to love her but I'm terrified she's going to get a pity vote if she doesn't leave the show. All the same, I'd rather have her in the top three than Mollee.

-- Kathryn and Ryan's disco ... She looked like she was having way more fun than he was, and like she was more loose and relaxed by a long shot. It's starting to show around the edges that being with Ellenore did wonders for Ryan.

-- Mollee and Jakob's waltz ... I thought that was really lovely. I loved that last spin with Mollee's hands on Jakob's hips. The two of them are very cute together, and I covet that skirt.

-- Wait, seriously, they're going to bring her out and show her off like that? *sigh*

-- Legacy and Ellenore's Travis Wall HOLYSHITTHISCOULDBEAWESOME ... HOLYSHITTHATWASAWESOME. And I see they included a shot of Ellenore hurting her collarbone in the practice footage. And to think, it could have been even more involved with that but they had to rein it back for her injury. Aw, Travis's zomigod-I-might-get-an-Emmy!face was adorable.

-- Jakob's solo ... He always kinda suckers me in when he flips in the air like that.

-- Ashleigh and Russell's hip hop ... See, now I feel bad, because I feel like Ashleigh could have performed quite well in this one. Pity. You know, the good thing about it only being Russell in this dance we have to pay attention to helps, because the assistant, as far as I can tell, was just okay. Russell did fantastic as far as I'm concerned, though.

-- Mollee's solo ... I'm never really thrilled by her solos, but at least this one looked less like a gymnastics routine than her usual performances do.

-- Ryan and Kathryn's cha cha ... I thought that turned out really well. Ryan was in his element and Kathryn was her wonderful adorable self. Also, every time I see Ryan in costume, I firmly believe the floor of the costume department is littered with the snipped-away buttons from his shirts.

-- Legacy's solo ... Heh. "It's America." Legacy, you're so tacky. :)

-- Ellenore's solo ... Cat's right. She always looks like she's having so much fun.

-- Russell's solo ... Santa Russell! \o/

-- I want Kathryn's wraparound top to, like, wear around the house. It's so PRETTY.

-- Jakob and Mollee's Broadway ... Hated the remix and Mollee looked like she was missing a step or two, at least to me. But aside from that, I really liked it.

-- Kathryn's solo ... Lovely dance. God, she's so damn pretty.

-- Legacy and Kathryn's hip hop ... I'm on Adam Shankman's page with this one. Good, not bad, but not the best of the night.

-- Ryan's solo ... That was really good. And, AW RYAN. It's times like this I want to give him a cuddle but good.

-- Ashleigh and Russell's Bollywood ... I get that waist thing was the lift she threw her shoulder out on. Heh. I mean, OUCH. That said, very impressive, Russell. He did it well and appeared to be having a great time. Hey, I was right! That was the move that hurt Ashleigh. Not surprised at all.

-- That sucks. From the rehearsal footage, it looks like Ashleigh had that hip hop routine down quite well.

Also, for those of you who want to give holiday goodies out to the fannish masses, there are bunches of posts up at [livejournal.com profile] fandom_stocking. I have one up myself and plan to hit the comm just as soon as I get my Yuletide and the HA edits done.

Dear PennDON'T ... er, DOT:

I know I'm asking for a lot, but could you possibly do your fucking job tomorrow morning so that when I leave to go to work after a few lousy inches of snow I'm not slipping and sliding from here to Scranton. Because, seriously, if most of the handful of inches we're supposed to get is supposed to fall by six in the morning, I'm not asking for a lot for it to be cleared up by then.

Of course, that's if we're talking about a department of transportation road crew that's not entirely utter shite. *eyeroll*

Sincerely,

Me

P.S. To the local news -- IT'S FOUR INCHES AT THE MOST ACCORDING TO YOU PEOPLE, STOP CALLING IT A FUCKING STORM. THIS IS PENNSYLVANIA, FOUR INCHES IS FLURRIES. BLAAAAAARGH.

Okay, so I'm trying to come up with songs to exercise to. Suggestions? I'm not into anything too remix-y or electronic.

Suitably epic soundtracks work well for motion, and I've had good luck with The Divine Comedy.

Let's see, Scranton is in Penndot district 4 (http://www.dot.state.pa.us/Penndot/Districts/district4.nsf/District%204%20Homepage). I don't know whether the roads they're plowing (or not plowing) are state roads or local roads (i.e. if it is township plows or state plows you need to complain about), but have you tried 1-800-FIX-ROAD? It's mainly for road maintenance concerns but I'd bet you could call and complain about the snow plowing! People complaining seriously does make a difference.

ooh, hey, I think you can find out if the crappily plowed roads in question are township or state roads by looking at your county pdf map here (http://www.dot.state.pa.us/Internet/Bureaus/pdPlanRes.nsf/infoBPRCartoCountyType10).

*snickers*

I doubt it would help. It seems like they don't plow ANY road around here that isn't I-81. They even do a crap job on Rte. 6 and everybody uses that damn thing ALL THE TIME.

Sure, awesome! Then just keep complaining to the people who don't have the power to change anything, and unsurprisingly, nothing will change.

The problem is nothing changes when you do complain to the people who have the power to change anything about the PennDOT workers in this area. That contact line gets bombarded by people up here every winter every time there's a snowstorm and nothing changes. By now it's not even worth trying. I honestly don't know what you need to do in this area to get PennDOT to plow a road, but getting in touch with PennDOT seems to be the absolute antithesis of it.

And you know, it's weird, but for all of the bitching other people make about the DMV, I've never had a problem there, never had to wait in a line longer than ten minutes or three people, and they're a branch of the DOT, and I haaaaate the DOT, because it's so incredibly rare to see DOT road crews in this area do anything right, on time, with any sort of effort whatsoever, no matter you complain to them, to the newspapers, on the television (oh, God, every snowstorm, SOMEBODY ends up on the local news bitching about PennDON'T).

And the best part? Three years I spent in school on the western end of the state ... never had a problem with the DOT plowing over there. It's like the slightly higher elevation gives them brain freeze and hysterical deafness, I don't even know.

HAHAHA good luck with that. I'm currently in SEPTA territory, but I imagine that the general principle is the same. Four inches is an epic disaster when apparently no one freaking knows how to shovel.
