TMZ is reporting that Brittany Murphy went into cardiac arrest and died early this morning.

She's MY age. Hell, she's only a month younger than me.

Or an eating disorder (I guess one can lead right to the other, in Hollywood). It's sick, but: I really hope that this was a congenital defect. I would hope that even if she hadn't been pretty damned talented, all things considered, but still.

Somebody on Jezebel pointed out that a few years ago she came out super-thin and was like, "Oh, my weight? I was always like this!", which comes off pretty ridiculous when you starred in one of the biggest movies of the '90s as a girl of normal weight for any other job but overweight by Hollywood standards.

That said, I really hope it was a congenital defect as well, sick or not, although there have been so many reports of strange behavior the last few months I wouldn't be surprised if it were drugs.
