So I've been downloading every audiobook I can get my grubby paws on, both for things I haven't read yet and things I have, just to give myself something to listen to at work. (I really want to download more music, but considering I only have a 2G MP3 player it's not really worth it. Maybe when I get a better MP3 player ...)

In any event, I found a download of "Acheron". And I'm going to listen to it at work.

For those of you who read it, you'll know why I'm already trying to figure out how long I'll need to be listening to Part One before I need to stop working and go slit my wrists based less on quality and more on content. Listening to torture porn at work ... probably not the best plan I've ever had.

*sigh* Seriously, sooner or later I have to dig up an MP3 player with more memory (I'm sick of deleting stuff from this stupid thing to put more stuff on it) and start downloading podfics. I'm running out of audiobooks I remotely want to listen to, which you can tell, what with the torture porn and all.

Big changes for the next season of So You Think You Can Dance

Erm ... hmm. On one hand, it may be interesting to narrow it down to the even better dancers while seeing some old favorites. On the other hand ... well, I kinda want to see new people. And what about Billy Bell and Brandon Dumlao? Unless they monumentally flop they'll both probably make it back into the top 10 for this year. (I feel like Billy definitely will, but Brandon's a bit more of a possible miss.) It feels a bit unfair that that leaves only three spots for the male dancers.

Have you tried your local library's Books-on-CD collection? Recorded Books, Inc. put together a great production.

(Not that podfics are not also among the world's greatest inventions; I'm just saying. ^_^)

I second the audio-book-library love. And I also have some I can share if you want.

I have Stephen Fry reading Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy, as well as a good rip of Jennifer Crusie's Agnes and the Hitman. I also have the first four in the Temeraire series by Naomi Novik in audio book. The last is my newest obsession.

Also, Freakonomics and Superfreakonomics in audio book format, which are fun and interesting books.

...sorry. I *love* audio books!
