*pinches Zachariah's cheeks*
Apr. 15th, 2010 10:08 pm-- I want to draw big sparkly pink hearts around that final scene. Aw, yeah, boys. Aw, yeah.
-- I wonder what it says about me that I screamed happily at seeing the Gilded Cheeseburger Room. It's a terrible, horrible house of lies but interesting things happen in it. And it's a shitty little shack in a factory in Van Nuys? I love it. :D
-- I think I've got it now. The writers are writing Dean/Cas and the angels are writing Dean/Sam. Gotcha.
-- Also, Dean throwing Cas out of the panic room is total karmic slapback for Cas letting Sam out of the panic room last season. This is true. It says so in my brain.
-- Heh. Of course Adam's a bit of a dick. Look at his gene pool. (That's got to be one of my bigger pet peeves in SPN fandom, when the show reveals that John did something dickish and people get all, "Why are they saying John's an asshole?!" Because he was, that's why. He's always been one. We've had drunken-hardass-emotionally-stunted-abandoning-drill-sergeant John since the damn pilot. What makes him wonderful is that he's also a big solid pile of love at the same time. He's the canonical lovable douchebag who fathered that other lovable douchebag we kind of like.)
-- I premptively rolled my eyes when Castiel fought Dean. Not because I didn't like it - it was very true to form for Cas, all things considered, and I don't blame him for cracking considering the position he's coming from -- but because I can already hear people complaining that Cas would even dare to beat poor Dean up. Because it's only hot when Sam fights Dean? Eh, I don't know. I give up trying to figure out some of the Castiel hate. I have nothing against people who don't like him (YMMV, after all), but there's a level of hate for the character out there where no matter what he does, it's AWFUL. There is no middle ground, and there definitely won't be anything positive EVER. There's disliking a character and there's a "Fuck you, Castiel, the sky is green!" level of hate for the guy sometimes that I don't recall seeing for many other characters in any other fandom I've been in, and it's never fun to watch.
-- Aw, give me Zachariah back. *pouts*

Date: 2010-04-16 02:14 am (UTC)Threw my head back and just laughed at this for half a minute. So true! I spent part of the ep. going "What? Did he really just say that?"
Sometimes I think TPTB cater too much to our schizophrenic fandom. Heh.

Date: 2010-04-16 02:24 am (UTC)I don't even care for Cas and I still thought that was a pretty hot scene. (data point)

Date: 2010-04-16 02:33 am (UTC)And seriously, I couldn't blame him one bit for that fight. They already tried talking sense into the nitwit, might as well try smacking some sense into him since that didn't work. And Cas gave up everything for Dean. I don't think I ever would have stopped hitting him.

Date: 2010-04-16 02:44 am (UTC)And yeah - no blame on Cas for losing his shit. He's still reeling from the news about God not being on his side - now he's losing the one other being that he put 100% of his trust in?
I definitely wouldn't have been able to stop if I were in Cas' shoes.

Date: 2010-04-16 02:29 am (UTC)I have no problem with Cas fighting Dean. It hurt my heart but Cas has the right to feel like Dean's fucked up and he's given a lot to support Dean. I also feel like Dean has the right to feel like he's overwhelmed and just downright fucking tired of it all too. This is why my mom hated when I played devils advocate. I see both sides of their coins and can't blame either one of them for the way they feel.
I think it's damn funny Zach finally got his ass handed to him. I mean I do love him as the bad guy and I wouldn't mind seeing him again but his kiss off was coming in some form or another we knew that.

Awesome ep.

Date: 2010-04-16 04:21 am (UTC)And the alleyway beat-up was so clearly meant to serve as buddy homoerotic tension, but I don't think the actors could sell it because they were giggling too hard inbetween takes.

Date: 2010-04-18 09:20 pm (UTC)I'm actually kind of delighted...because usually that attitude is reserved for female characters. Or actresses. Or the girlfriends of actors.
(Then again, Cas technically isn't either male or female, so far as we know, so maybe in some people's minds he still defaults to "potential threat". I hate people.)
