I'm sorry, it was probably the wrong reaction, but all day long at work when I needed a giggle all I did was think about the whole plagiarism thing. I couldn't help it! Of all the things she could have stolen, she takes my brainless post-SPN episode reactions and one of my Big Bang word counts? Really? At least I would have understood if she'd taken, say, Dean in home ec or the Passion of the Christ Q&A review. Sheesh.
Anyway, onward and upward! Who wants some chocolate?
Yeah, yeah, I'm actually going to go through with the whole personal-chocolate-shopper idea, mostly because my dithering's starting to turn into a vicious taunt. So with that in mind:
Chocolate Chocolate OM NOM NOM
So what kind of chocolate are we talking about?
The company in question would be Gertrude Hawk, whose website is here. Gertrude Hawk is a local company which (IIRC) has stores in the PA/NJ/NY area. It also has a fannish connection -- if you've ever watched an episode of The Office and spotted candy bars with plaid wrappers in the vending machines in the break room, those would be Gertrude Hawk bars. (Which is amusing to someone from the area ... Gertrude Hawk bars tend to get sold by high schoolers to earn money for trips and things, not in vending machines at local business.)
There are five stores I know of near me, but three of those are retail stores rather than outlet stores, where you can get "seconds" -- as in, the chocolates which weren't pretty enough to get boxed but taste exactly the same as the boxed chocolates -- in bags for half the price. Those are what I'll be buying. They're not dressed up all pretty like the nice boxed ones, but they taste just the same.
What flavors are we talking about?
Well, milk, dark and white, obviously, with fillings like key lime, strawberry banana, peanut butter banana, lemon, raspberry cheesecake, champagne truffles, creme brulee, and lots of others. They've got a really good variety.
I would like some chocolates in a great big box! How would I go about that?
Basically, you Paypal me money, I buy up a bunch of chocolates and ship them to you. Easy-peasy!
How much would I need to Paypal you to obtain chocolate?
Well, that would depend on three things:
1. How much you want me to spend on chocolate
2. How much you want to pay for shipping
3. How much you want to throw my way (if you want to throw anything my way at all)
If you want me to buy you ten bucks worth of chocolate and you Paypal me twenty bucks, I'll keep what's left over after I ship. If you want me to buy you thirty bucks worth of chocolate and Paypal me seventy-five, I'll keep what's left over after I ship. And I won't ship it at the cheapest rate, I will try to ship at the rate guaranteed to get it to you soonest. Since, you know, it's perishable and I want to get you your chocolate as much as you want to get your chocolate.
Can I request what you get me?
Sure, if there's something on their website that you really, really want, I'll try to get it even if I have to buy it at full price. If you want me to buy you thirty bucks worth of the raspberry cheesecake smidgens, I'll do it. I'm basically your personal shopper, although I will say that I can't guarantee the flavor in question will be available and to please keep that in mind when you request stuff.
What do you need to know from me?
-- The name you'll be sending me money through Paypal under
-- How much of that money you want me to spend on chocolate
-- Milk, dark and white chocolate: what are your preferences?
-- Likes and dislikes (Nuts, coconut, peanut butter, etc.)
-- Your address
You can PM me with the info or send the info along with the Paypal amount if you like ... whichever works for you.
Can I order chocolate if I'm allergic to nuts?
Unfortunately not. Basically, if you have the sort of food allergies you'd expect to have a problem with when it comes to items from a chocolate factory, you'll probably be out of luck.
My Paypal address is my apocalypsos LJ email. Please give me a little time to get the chocolate, if only because I don't really have much money in my account right now and so my shopping will have to wait until the money transfers.
But, YAY, candy!

I got a box of hazelnut Santa-shaped chocolates in March, I think it was, for ... I think it was a buck-fifty. The last time I sent a box for someone, I spent twenty bucks and ended up with 4.5 pounds of chocolate to ship out.
