You have a right to be completely stressed out, but you should also feel good about just managing to keep your head above water with your situation and income level.
I know you're starting to get to hating your car right now, but besides possibly moving to another apartment (I don't know how feasible that is), if there's no public transit and it's too far to bike (short term fix), then a cheap new car may be an option that's better than a used one right now.
I don't know about where you are, but we can get 0% financing for 5 or 6 years on a lot of models right now, putting a cheaper car in the $170-$200/month payment range. If you're going to be seeking bankruptcy, best to check that out first.
