I just figured I'd ask for permission from you guys first, but if I say that he's got a vial of anthrax in his shoe tree, can I go to his house and beat the shit out of him with a baseball bat? Please?

I'm curious. What songs turn you on? (In a romantically erotic way, not a straight-off-a-porn-soundtrack way.)

Date: 2004-03-25 06:33 pm (UTC)As far as pre-show seductive type things, raspy blues singers are always nice. Janis Joplin, Norah Jones, anything you might hear in a Starbucks while you're waiting for your espresso...
As for actually getting down to business, I've found that Powerman 5000 ~ When Worlds Collide, any of Marilyn Manson's faster stuff, and virtually anything by Rob Zombie or Prodigy make nice background music. But, then, I like things a little on the rough side. ;)

And Balligomingo's Beneath the Surface. That's some sweet, sweet music.

Date: 2004-03-25 08:23 pm (UTC)"Detour" by Bis: It's snarky car sex! and makes work the phrase "I'm feeling disillusioned with the human race"!
"Closer" by Nine Inch Nails--most of my United Methodist guilt twinges from loving this song so freakin' much have stopped by now.
"When You're Good to Mama" as performed by Queen Latifah in Chicago. Whimper.
"Strong" by Velvet Chain & "Transylvanian Concubine" by Rasputina off the "Buffy" soundtrack. Mmmmm.
and just about anything by Garbage.
(Who knew? Apparently techno turns me on. Heh. And I grew up listening to nothing but country...)

Date: 2004-03-25 08:38 pm (UTC)Almost all of David Gray's "White Ladder" album, especially Sail Away and Please Forgive Me
Janis Joplin singing Summertime gets me every time.
Roxy Music's Avalon the song and the whole album really.
David Bowie, Rebel, Rebel and several others actually, ummm Candidate/Sweet Thing and Absolute Beginners and China Girl come to mind immediately.
That's what I can come up with off the top of my head.

Date: 2004-03-26 12:40 am (UTC)A song that is an explicit turn-off: White Zombie's "More Human Than Humans", because I made out with my ex to this song on repeat.

Date: 2004-03-26 12:45 am (UTC)Robert Johnson's "Malted Milk." Most of Robert Johnson. Put on some Robert Johnson and go to the bedroom, I'll follow quietly.
(And you have my permission to use a lead pipeon Fearless Leader. Don't beat around the bush -- beat him up!)

Date: 2004-03-26 09:01 am (UTC)Rammstein - Spiel Mit Mir. (What can I say? I like German.)
Sammy Kershaw - She Don't Know She's Beautiful. (Lovely lyrics.)
Brooks & Dunn - My Maria. (Love that falsetto!)
Carole King - Will You Love Me Tomorrow? (And I even like the Bee Gees cover.)

Date: 2004-03-26 05:02 pm (UTC)The first is one I heard on a music video from the 'net. It's called "Angel Eyes", but I've not *idea* who sings it. You have to be turned on *to* sing it though, I swear. *melts*
The second is "Supernatural" by By Divine Right, and the third is: "Take it Off" by The Donnas.
I also love Sarah McLachlan, but she tends to depress me more often than turn me on, and I love Goldfrapp, but again, I'm only turned on by them if I'm in the right mood (though seeing them live did it - she's fucking hot!).
