The Top 100 Most Underrated Movies -- I totally agree with nearly every single movie on this list, whether I admit it or not. (Having said that, I save my most vehement refusal for Gremlins 2. Because, um, sequels suck. And Gizmo should be punted into another county. And Zach Galligan doesn't deserve a paycheck ever, 'cause ... um, just 'cause. You guys bought that, right? ... well, damn.)
Note to self ... must make sure these movies are on my DVD wish list ...
A Simple Plan (Billy Bob's butt-ugly, but maaaaan, is he a good actor. And Bill Paxton ... *swoon*)
Time After Time
Brotherhood of the Wolf
Equilibrium (I haven't see it, but the accompanying photo is killing me)
Frequency (Jim Caviezel and Dennis Quaid in the same movie, and it's good, too!)
The Iron Giant (my favorite animated film ever, bar none)
The Ref (Denis Leary is a god ... that is all)
Top Secret! (Dear Val Kilmer, if you would have kept doing comedic roles, I would have loved you forever. But I'm fickle like that. Signed,
trollprincess)
Antz (I didn't like this more than A Bug's Life, but that's mostly because this didn't have Heimlich)
Long Kiss Goodnight (One of my favorite movies ever. No, seriously. "I don't smoke, I don't drink and I don't swear. Oh shit. I DO smoke and drink." And dude, she's been hiding out in Honesdale, PA! I've got to give props to a movie where she's been hiding in the town I was born in.)
The Specials
Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey (I bought my brother this and Excellent Adventure for Christmas, I think, and all I remember was debating whether or not to give them to him. 'Cause I love the kid, but it's Bill and Ted, maaaaan!)
Liberty Heights (It's the Hitler costume that kills me every time.)
Shadow of the Vampire (Willem Dafoe ... I love that man ...)
Rounders
Stir of Echoes (Infinitely creepier than "The Sixth Sense", and you can never go wrong with a Kevin Bacon movie.)
Ed Wood (Johnny Depp. Martin Landau. Bill Murray. "Call Boris Karloff a cocksucker." God, I love this flick.)
The 25th Hour
Super Troopers
A Knight's Tale (Well, let's see ... Heath Ledger, Rufus Sewell, Alan Tudyk, Jams Purefoy, Paul Bettany, Paul Bettany's delightfully pale ass ... plus, it's funny, and I want to steal Shannyn Sossamon's wardrobe from this movie. 'Cause, um, no medieval lady should have that anachronistic a wardrobe, so I should. Give me the precioussssss ...)
Testament
Home for the Holidays (As stated by my mom, this is my family. Well, at least I get to be Claire Danes.)
And The Band Played On (This movie kills me every time. I'm basically crying on and off for the entire thing, until the last ten minutes and then, I just lose it. And if you think that's bad, you should have seen me reading the book.)
Zero Effect (Bill Pullman! Ben Stiller! Come on, people!)
The Last Boy Scout (I'm not supposed to love Bruce Willis and Damon Wayans this much in anything. "This is the nineties. You don't just go around punching people. You have to say something cool first." *snerk*)
Gods and Monsters (Ian McKellan! *squeee!*)
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm
Pump Up The Volume
The Prophecy
The Hudsucker Proxy
Breakdown
Falling Down (Michael Douglas as a mass murderer can do no wrong in my book. Well, aside from all the mass murdering, but ... but ... but it entertained me, damn it!)
