Last night's Project Runway
Aug. 17th, 2012 07:45 am-- I don't know who annoyed me more last night -- Gunnar and his stupid sulky behavior, Elena and her self-centered shrieking, or Raul being ... well, Raul. Although Raul's exit speech put him way, waaaaaay in the lead following the episode. See, this is why I didn't want him back on the show.
-- Speaking of miserable bags of douche, WTF is wrong with Ven in that preview for next week?! What kind of ass would think it's acceptable to tell a young woman that the dress he's making for her has a "slimming effect" (and I can't imagine that's the only insensitive thing he says, considering it's Ven)? Shut up, Ven, you dick, you're not exactly svelte yourself and you should know better about fucking double standards.
-- Melissa's dress was a stunner. Such a beautiful color.
-- Rewatching old episodes of this show has reminded me of how we used to know the models' name and personalities. Not in that Models-of-the-Runway sort of way, but like with Morganza and Nazri and the ones that the designers genuinely fought over.
-- How is it that Gunnar made a dress that you can wear a bra in -- a rare occurrence on this show -- and his model clearly wasn't wearing one? Her puppies were just free to roam all over the place, which is just a bad idea with a dress with a bit of bagginess to it like that one?
-- I like Elena's designs, but I don't like the way she always manages to cram them into the challenge regardless of what it entails. You can be loyal to your aesthetic and not give EVERYONE linebacker shoulderpads, Elena.
