And therefore Tom and Lorenzo have photos of the final collections and the decoys for this season of Project Runway.

My three favorites are Gunnar, Elena, and Christopher/Fabio. Gunnar's is my clear favorite because it's so strikingly different from the others, the African influence is strong and surprising and very well-executed, and he had the good sense to put his collection down the runway on a line entirely stocked with models of color, which many designers wouldn't even bother to care about. God knows there are more than enough designers out there who would have had no problem putting his African-inspired collection out on the runway on a group of blond models, so I'm happy for that. And it's so lovely! It pops against the other collections, no question.

Elena comes up a close second for me. Her collection is still a little too boxy at points, but at the same time she seems to have taken the high points of her aesthetic and injected some gorgeous colors into it.

I'm torn for third place between Christopher and Fabio. I love Christopher, which is probably influencing me a bit, but I do quite like his collection, which seems like the one I'd most likely buy (you know, if I had any money at all). I wonder if it stands out enough, but I love the whole thing. As for Fabio's collection, it's the sort of collection which strikes me as, "You don't need to read my label, you know EXACTLY who designed this." And I do, and it looks lovely and flowy and so very comfortable, and yet at the same time I worry how "fashion" it is.

As for the others:

Melissa: I actually do like hers, just not as much as the others above. It definitely rings true as her aesthetic, though, and that red dress is gorgeous.

Sonjia: Someone on Tumblr called it disjointed and I have to concur. It kinda feels like her, but at the same time it feels a bit all over the place to me. I dunno. I wanted to see her collection and afterward I just wasn't as excited to have seen it as I was.

Dmitry: Dmitry, I love you, but good holy Christmas, what the hell was with the styling on his outfits? Which weren't bad, per se, but I had to look over the photos twice because I was too busy staring at the models' overdone eyebrows. Sheesh.

Ven: I'm pissed at Ven's collection, because it's just him running his stupid fabric-sculpting trick into the goddamn ground. The irritating thing about that trick is that it's actually very pretty, and if you only did it once or twice it would be striking, but he does it ALL THE GODDAMN TIME. And he fucking did it again all over his final collection? Fuck him, for real. (What's just as annoying is that I've been rewatching season five and Keith and his stupid fabric swatches, and seeing designers cling to the last lonely entry in their nearly-empty bag of tricks just bugs the piss out of me.)

I spent the entire day curled up in bed, trying to relax and failing miserably and worrying my ass off over everything from money to ... uh, more money to .... okay, fine, just money. Stupid money. *grumble*

I would really prefer to worry about the fact that I have to write a five-page essay on Japanese temple geometry in the next two weeks, for crying out loud. Ugh.
