Please tell me that I won't be lying when I tell my boss later on that the reason I stopped working five hours before I would have reached my forty hours for this week is because I'm sick. I've been randomly bursting into heaving sobs and fighting off panic attacks all goddamn day, and my fucked-up brain refuses to accept that as "sick."

Well, you're probably not sick. Not capable of working, heavens no, feel free to tell boss you're sick if that's what will get boss to listen, but 'sick' implies physical illness which this doesn't sound like.

That is being sick and there's nothing wrong with it. You need a break, in so many ways. I really wish I could do more .. but at the moment all I can offer is a promise of good thoughts and a digital ear should you need to talk.
