A few things

1. Merry Christmas! Or happy Tuesday. Whatever floats your boat.
2. I'm still working on "Monsters of Moosic", but it's just taking a bit mostly because of the holidays and because I'm an awful perfectionist. I'm going to work my ass off the next few days to get my work hours done ASAP, however, because my plan is to get it posted before the end of the year. Which, as you might have noticed, is on Monday.
3. I just got done watching the Doctor Who Christmas special!
I never did get a chance to watch "Asylum of the Daleks", which I'm downloading now just for completion's sake, but I liked Clara a whole lot. I think my only complaint is that I wish that the modern-day version of her was the version which got bumped off and the Victorian one was the one we kept, if only because we just keep picking up modern-day London girls and it's getting a bit tiresome. And also because Clara was awesome just the way she was.
I know that most people don't seem to like the TARDIS renovation, but after watching the episode, I kind of like it. In context, of course -- I think if it would have changed to the current version at any other time it would have been perfectly ridiculous in every way. I think a lot of what makes it work in my eyes is what I thought when I first saw the photos, that I was going to give them the benefit of the doubt until I saw what they did with it. For one thing, the loss of the Ponds apparently affected the Doctor so deeply that I can buy a darker change of venue (in spite of the fact that I understand from more serious Who fans that we only get TARDIS redos when we get new Doctors), and the way it's lit until the point of Clara's entrance works with his mood.
The thing is, as an '80s remodel, it's cheesy as fuck. As something sparked by the Doctor being mopey and solitary in a spaceship in Victorian London for God knows how long, I think I like it. I'm not saying I love it completely -- the lights on the walls are a little of the worst of classic Who set design -- but there are some aspects to the redesign that made me perk up. That spinny circular bit at the top with all the symbols was something I particularly liked, for the record.
Also, I would give my left arm for a Madame Vastra/Jenny spinoff, I swear to God.
