Yeah, I know about this and am completely disgusted. There are a couple of women who, if they had come along first, would be my spouse now...so though I'm removed from the issue by my long-term relationship (married to a man for over 11 years) I feel almost like I dodged a bullet. Except...it's going right past me and heading full-tilt boogie toward friends of mine.

When are they gonna outlaw divorce, is what I'm wondering? What with the sanctity of marriage and all...

1. Once again, am very glad to live in the Netherlands. At least basic human rights are normal here!.

2. This all is eerily reminding me of my history lessons regarding Germany in the 1940´s. Fuck. And they all keep shouting that America is supposed to be the land of freedom.

Up next... they will soon pass the Missionary Position Act. Where you can only have sex in a dark room with your spouse (who must be the opposite sex, mind you) and in the missionary position. It is to be strictly for procreation only. You are not allowed to enjoy anything. Yes, they will install cameras in all the bedrooms to make sure you don'ot so much as illicite a moan.

After that, The Barefoot and Pregnant Act. Women are to remain at home, birth control is now illegal and women must give birth as many times as their husband desires.

Things like this make me so glad I live in New Zealand. And right now, even though it doesn't affect me it's making me so angry I'm crying. Why? How can people be that narrow minded? I thought that the new bill passed in Minesota (?) about health care was the extreme, but no, I just keep being proved wrong.
