X-Men

All Foam, No Beer was a bumper sticker I took off a taglines site, because I was looking for a line that basically described someone out of their ever-lovin' mind, and well, the beer reference was too good to pass up with Mick.

But Not A Real Snow-Man, That's Cruel, which I really need to finish one of these days, was me bastardizing a Barenaked Ladies line for my own nefarious purposes.

The Nightmare Fighter was taken from the poem "Death of the Ball Turret Gunner," and I used it because, well, nightmares. It fit the story well enough, and I kept meaning to write a story and use a line from that poem.

Buffy/Angel

Ghost in the Shell was obviously from the movie of the same name, which I used to have on DVD. I was trying to come up with a title for the fic, spotted that, and everything clicked, considering it was Buffy's "ghost" in Faith's "shell." (Tuesday's Child ..., another one I keep meaning to finish, I picked because the whole line is "Tuesday's child is full of grace." Which, considering Buffy/Faith changed her name to Grace at the end of GitS, was sorta me giving everybody a hint to the plot later on. ;))

I'd Kiss You, But I Just Washed My Hair was a line from an old movie I can't remember (but which was quoted in "Get Shorty"), which I totally latched onto as a title because it seemed to fit the two relationships in an odd, sad sort of way.

Was the 'I'd Kiss You,' line from Young Frankenstein? There's that whole thing in the station, when she's like, no, don't smudge my makeup, don't wrinkle my dress, but ..all of me, Darling!

Nope, it's actually from The Cabin in the Cotton. I've never see the movie, but I do remember that bit in Get Shorty where they quote it.
