For this week (and likely for the foreseeable future) I would go for my coworker -- a sweet enough woman, but one who finds filing a challenge, insists on trying to 'help' me by showing me in excruciating and pointless detail how to do every little thing, and whose plodding rambling mouth has no frelling OFF switch!!!
My Drill Sargeant thought the same thing. Smack one Private a day in front of the company. Never happened, but if you think the bank wench is bad, you should see a group of 17-18 yr olds trying to follow orders.
The Drill had my sympathies. I of course remained scared most of the time, and hence did what I was told.
Well, the bank wench wouldn't cash my paycheck because she said I didn't have enough money in my account, then said she couldn't let me have the money for two business days, then said she couldn't let me have the money for five business days because it was an out-of-state bank that issued the paycheck. I wouldn't be nearly as pissed if a.) I hadn't been banking there for months now, and b.) she hadn't been such a snot about it.
Direct deposit, dude. Solves the whole problem. My current bank folks are insanely nice. Hell, they called once when a check got through the mail and into the bank Faster Than Anticipated and would bounce because payday wasn't for like 10 hours. Asked if I wanted to come in and do a (free) cash advance trial thingy to avoid the bounce charge. !!!
As opposed to the previous bank (local credit union) where they CLOSED my account for something bouncing because THEY transferred money out in error, and then said they couldn't reopen it because of the amount of bounceage. This after they another time deposited my paycheck (not direct deposit) into the wrong account and thus caused stuff to bounce all over town before they fixed it (they did, at least, reverse the charges to my account from them that had resulted), and then they told me it was between me and the merchants involved to haggle over bounced check charges. THE HELL?
