Am watching Deep Impact while I type up the Pairings List. You know, I want Morgan Freeman to be my president and teach me science.

EDIT: *snerk* Elijah looks like he's twelve in this.

What, you don't want him to be Easy Reader, too?

Isn't he darling? I saw DI for the first time last weekend. I think I need to buy it...

I bought that and Armageddon today. I think I needed to fulfill my desire to watch The Day After Tomorrow by watching other movies where "OMG we're all gonna die screaming AHHH!"

Hee. I'm so easily amused.

Yes. Because it only takes the destruction of the planet to amuse you.

I like Armageddon--action, excitement, and a few cute people. And I hate it--because I always get teary at the end.

They don't have to destroy the whole planet. They can feel free to trash an earthquake-ridden L.A. or a boat full of New Year's partiers or a plane full of cannibalistic rugby players and I'm perfectly happy.

I keep meaning to find a good '70s disaster movie still I like so that I can caption it with, "Only George Kennedy can save us now!"

I love it against my own better judgement because it is genuinely funny (I'll give it that much) and it's just so easy to make fun of. And you gotta love a movie where Ben Affleck has more chemistry with Bruce Willis than with the female lead.

... aaaad now I want to watch that instead of Triplets of Belleville. Well, hell, neither one of them are going anywhere. *toddles off to play with her DVDs*

I watched Deep Impact. I was rooting for the asteroid.

I always root for the major disaster-causing event. It's more fun that way.

Jeff Goldblum was so unnecessarily mean to those poor aliens in Independence Day.
