Cicadas heading underground until 2021.

And like any other sane person, my instant reaction to that headline was, "They totally need to do a Sealab episode about that! Where the cicadas come out and everybody goes fuckin' apeshit! Screaming and Muppet arms, I'm telling you!"

EDIT: Also, with the PoA computer game, there's a challenge where you're an itty bitty bunny rabbit for a third of it. I think I love that challenge more than life itself.

Unholy bison balls! That would be so hysterical! Hmmm... Thinking about that greatly improves a foul mood. Whee!!!

I just watched most of a Sealab episode where freaky white squishy things multiplied all over and were farting everyone to death

Seriously?!? I have the PS2 PoA game, I'm just about done and there's no bunny... I feel jipped... I get to be Hedwig and Hermoine though, which is pretty cool. Hermy has all the good spells.

Yes, she does. She's the one who gets to do the bunny challenge. The other half of the time, you're playing as an itty bitty dragon, which is equally as cute but is a bitch to fly. (Of course, I say that as someone who was having a hell of a time getting Buckbeak to fly right. Ugh.)

That's my favourite as well, with the possible exception of the teeny-tiny dragon who can set fire to things. :D

I had such a hard time getting that dragon to fly right, it was unreal. (Although I did eventually get the hang of it.) But the bunny absolutely killed me. Especially the way it would scratch behind the ear when you'd stop for a second. It's hard to keep playing when you're dead from cute.

Yeah, I've discovered that it's extremely hard to control anything that flies (ie the dragon, or Buckbeak), and I still suck at aiming spells - the arrow keys are too jerky, and I keep forgetting that I can aim with the mouse (which is, admittedly, better).

Oh, the scratching behind the ear and uber-cute sitting-up-to-take-a-look-around are the cutest things *ever*. I keep forgetting it's just a teny bunch of pixels (and that I'm usually deathly afraid of rabbits).

It's things with wings that get me. I got really good at flying Harry on his broomstick for Quidditch, but then again, when I was really bored and still played the first two games, I'd go to broomstick practice constantly.

I've also discovered how much I *loathe* the imps. It probably wouldn't be so bad if there weren't always four hundred thousand of the little buggers showing up at the same time. (Okay, six, but still.)

I got quite good at broomstick flying (my sister has Quidditch World Cup and an X-box), but the constant wing-flapping and wacky controls really get to me. I keep overcompensating while trying to turn and bouncing off walls.

Oh jebus, don't talk to me about the imps. I still haven't beaten the infestation in the well, and they keep taunting me. That, and those ...other imp thingies, the green ones - with the exploding candies? I'm completely rubbish at those, but I can still beat them without losing all my stamina.

(The Dementors also scare the everloving crap out of me - every time they show up, I have to run and turn the lights on. :o Because yes, I'm that big a wuss.)

Well, at this point, I've finished all the Sirius/Buckbeak stuff and am basically just taking exams. And it only took me about ten seconds to realize that Ron's Carpe Retractum final sucks beyond the telling of it. Could they make it a wee bit harder to get on and off those spinning board things? I think not.

And the Dementors ... ack. They're not so hard to defeat (although they are definitely scary-looking) but coming at you from all sides ... urgh. I kept nearly getting trounced, which isn't helped when you have to wait for that little ring to go up your wand. Urgh.

Also, the charmed skeletons can blow me.

I never knew what true, blinding hatred was until I ran across those damn skeletons. Not only is the whole 'cast a spell together for more power' bit just plain dodgy (half the time, bloody Hermione doesn't even bother aiming), but they keep throwing stuff at me, nonstop. This is why I'm still stuck in the tunnel underneath the Whomping Willow. >:O If I ever meet the person who came up with those bloody things, I fear I may have to hurt them.

(I have had dreams where all I can hear is "Carpe Retractum!" *whoosh!* "Carpe Retractum!" Ron only says it two different ways, and after the first five minutes it makes me want to clobber him senseless. Speaking of voices, how weird is it to see McGonagall and not hear Maggie Smith? And the guy who does Lupin sounds just plain creepy to me.)

Of course, the fact that I haven't played a PC game in about five years really doesn't help matters much.

Ooo, you know what I did under the Whomping Willow that finally worked? I ran Harry and Hermione into the room to activate the skeletons, then ran backward into the turn of the tunnel until the other skeleton couldn't hit us. Then I defeated the skeleton (of course, not without getting hit a few times first) then quickly ran past to get to the gold trunk at the end of the tunnell, which has Chocolate Frogs. You can't get through the door without defeating both skeletons, but at least that way you can make it through.

The bad part is that I think it's right after that room that you get to the staircase room, which is just chock full of skeletons. I took one look at all the little piles of bones and said, "Aw, shit."

Lupin is just generally screwed up. I know he didn't exactly have the nicest teeth in the world, but he looks like he's still waiting for his permanent teeth to grow in. (And I really wish I'd gotten more of a chance to go and buy stuff between lessons and challenges and whatnot. As it is, I'm in final exams and I've got about 1500 beans, over 100 Pumpkin Pasties, and God knows how many Cauldron Cakes and haven't gotten to do a damn thing with them.)

The HP games are really the only PC games I play anymore. They're addictive. :)

I can manage the first lot, but I keep dying in the second room (the Salamaders - which look like FLAMING KOMODO DRAGONS, for crap's sake - keep hitting me and then the skeletons just show up and finish me off).

I keep getting distracted by his hands - they look like he had a rampant case of Gigantism as a child.

(I noticed that too - every time you try to get back upstairs they spring a cut scene or something at you. Maybe you'll get a chance after the exams to have a look about. 0_o)

I was in DC a while back, and I counted like 100 dead cicadas in like five minutes with my future boyfriend friend. They scare me.
