Aug. 7th, 2004 03:57 pmJust got back from seeing Collateral, and I will be incredibly surprised if both Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx don't get nominated for Oscars because of it. (Then again, if Foxx doesn't get a nod for this, I get the impression from early reviews that he'll get it for Ray.) They've just got such amazing chemistry together onscreen, although I do have to mention that the movie does get weak towards the end. But it's worth it just for Tom Cruise, who's done some of his best work ever in this one. If you don't think the guy can convincingly play a cold-blooded killer, you'd be surprised.
The only new trailer before the movie was for Surviving Christmas, and really, how can you go wrong with a trailer that ends with James Gandolfini whacking an uber-cheerful Ben Affleck upside the head with a snow shovel? They also showed the trailer for Alexander, which continues to convince me that if the movie's in any way historically accurate, Alexander the Great had a mullet and Rosario Dawson is really a man.
EDIT: Since everybody's so gung-ho to see the trailer, here's the link. For the record, that shovel hit never stops being funny. :)
