I think it's horribly unfair that when I sing along to the "Once More With Feeling" songs and I get to "Wish I Could Stay", I have to sing Giles' part because I can't hit Tara's high notes. And when I'm singing along to the "Chicago" soundtrack, my easiest song is "When You're Good to Mama", which may have more to do with attitude than the fact that I'm an alto and it's easier for me to sing low than high.

Then again, I'm not really the best singer on the planet, so maybe I shouldn't be trying any of them. Especially since I think I'm starting to hear dogs in three counties howl.

That's just how voices are. I am, in fact, a rather good singer, but even though once in a while I luck out and have great soprano days, most of the time I'm an alto, sometimes I'm a tenor, and once in a while I've been known to make a surprisingly passable baritone.

Personally I've always liked those parts better. Maybe it's because I'm the daughter of an operatic soprano but I've always found that violins, flutes, and sopranos are highly overrated.
