hmmm. we want diversity, but maybe if we cycled the writers in the big fandoms? you get to play with these characters at this point in time for either this many stories, or for this amount of time?

we want all fandoms to get to play..but id rather read a few well written fics in many fandoms than a glut of one or two fandoms. hmm. this will need to be considered.

Hmm ... maybe no more than a certain number of writers in the larger fandoms at the same time? Like, only three writers each for Buffy and HP? And you'd just have to wait your turn like if you'd tried to call a smaller fandom and missed out.

And as for how long you could have dibs on a fandom, you could have it as long as you had a storyline or for three months, whichever came first. If you finished one story and were done, you could toss it back into the pot, but if you had a nice, long storyline to work with, you'd have a good amount of time to do it in.

I thought about the time limit as well, but that might cause problems with story arcs. I mean, what if someone has a fab plot, great writing, etc, and we don't *want* to replace them and end the coolness? Should we do so anyway, for the sake of equality?

My fair side favors the latter, but my inner fangirl fears going from "awesome" to "everything is ruined". It would make the fic jump the shark, in a manner of speaking. However, I'm probably being paranoid. The niche nature of the community will hopefully select out the writers who are really passionate, like on ithurtsmybrain.

That's my personal opinion, as well. This is supposed to be a massive crossover orgy, not another BtVS/HP/SV apoca-fic with occasional guest stars serving as plot devices.
