You know, I'd already seen the story about Carnie Wilson expecting her first baby, but it's the opening line of the article that got to me -- Singer Carnie Wilson, whose gastric bypass surgery five years ago was broadcast on the Internet, says she is again eating for two.

Again?! That's so rude, I don't even know where to begin.

So isn't she making a joke herself at her own expense?

Yeah, but she says it in a way that indicates what all of us would think if we got pregnant, which is, "Well, at least I get to eat whatever I want." Whereas "she's again eating for two" makes it sound like when she was fat because she used to eat for two, which isn't exactly what she said.

possibly she is but it makes it no less rude, If I make a joke about being fat and then you make joke about my being fat, I'm still gonna be upset about it.
