Birth -- EW. Ew, ew, ew, ew, ew, ew, ew, EW. Okay, I'm done.

Blade Trinity -- You know, I didn't much like the first two because my Wesley Snipes hatred is fairly all-encompassing, and Jessica Biel is beyond annoying, but then again, Ryan Reynolds is awfully pretty when he's scruffy. I don't know if he's pretty enough to overcome Snipes and Biel, but whatever. *pets*

Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason -- I may be one of the few people who actually likes Renee Zellweger in movies, but this trailer has both Hugh Grant being smarmy and Colin Firth smiling in a very sexy way about his girlfriend's "wobbly bits". Mmmm, hot British men.

The newest Incredibles trailer -- Is it wrong that I keep thinking about Mr. Incredible going, "I don't like my job. I don't think I'm going to go anymore"? *giggles*

Flight of the Phoenix -- A plane crashes, and Dennis Quaid takes his shirt off. Well, really. What more do I need?

The Life Aquatic -- Because if you haven't seen the trailer already, go watch it. No, right now. Go. Shoo. Go on.

White Noise -- This trailer creeps me the fuck out. *shudders*

Saw -- And so does the trailer for this movie. And I'm going to go see both by myself, and flip out and cover my eyes and miss half the movie. *sigh*

In other news:

Current The Monsters of Minooka word count: 22,418 words
Chapters finished: 2

I should finish another one tonight, and hopefully pound out another chapter by tomorrow. I think signing up to write the book right after it for NaNoWriMo is probably going to get me to write faster, because I want to have as much of this one done as possible before November. (Especially considering that it'd help to know how this one turns out before I start The Walking Dead of Wilkes-Barre.)

I'm going alone, so this should be amusing. I'd better make friends with the person sitting next to me, because sooner or later, I'll be in their lap hugging for dear life.

Oh. My. God.

Your icon: is that the new, improved, Anakin-ghost edited into the final scene of Return of the Jedi?

If so, please excuse me while I go *barf*.

I am *worlds* of never going to see White Noise. I couldn't sleep after the TRAILER. One of my biggest fears is seeing faces in windows/mirrors, and as fascinated by that sort of stuff as I am, no way in FUCKING HELL

I'm all over White Noise and Saw...will probably have to go see it alone since I don't think anyone I know out here will see that kind of movie.

But why does Birth make you go eww? I don't get it.

That would be because it's the movie where Nicole Kidman makes out with a ten-year-old while they're naked in a bathtub. And it's all I can think about when I see the trailer. Ick.

Okay, yeah, eww...I didn't see that in the trailer, but my monitor at work is really dark.

So yeah. Eww. Just eww.

They're remaking The Flight of the Phoenix?? I find this -- odd.

Perhaps next they'll remake No Highway In The Sky.

At Dragon Con, Lions Gate had a table set up promoting Saw, and it more or less screeched traffic to a halt in that little area with its posters of dismembered limbs and the endlessly looping trailer in the background. I had a T-shirt pretty much forced on me by an enthusiastic promoter, and I didn't take a good look at it until I took it home--it's screenprinted with the image on the main page of the trailer there, the head of a terrifed girl (who looks rather like Sarah Michelle Gellar) locked trapped in a jagged and sinister metal torture device.

I'm scared to wear the shirt after dark.

I'm so going to see Birth, because I love the sick and twisted. Yum.

I don't love Saw, though. I'm all sorts of masochistic, and I know all my videostore coworkers are going to go see it, but I don't think I can quite do it. Yipe.

Also, thank you for the Life Aquatic link. I hadn't heard of that, and now I'm planning on seeing it.

Dude, word on the Ryan Reynolds. I never even saw the first two Blade movies, 'cause, well... dumb. But! Ryan Reynolds!

Le sigh.

Life Aquatic made me go 'squee.' No, really. I made a small noise. I think it may have been because of the sudden appearance of Jeff Goldblum.

Flight of the Phoenix looks awesome as well.

B Jones - a decent movie, but the casting ruined all the books best C Firth and H Grant jokes.
Really - the books are a must read.

The closest decent theater won't be showing Saw; as far as I know, if I wanted to see it, a trip to Nashville would be in order. (That's the way it was with Ghost in the Shell 2...)

Also, copies of the Punisher DVD sold at Best Buy were packaged with a preview for Saw...

To clarify: I didn't actually go to Nashville to see GitS2, but I know people that did. I was trying to say that the closest theater that was showing it was in Nashville.
