tviokh explains here why Bush has lost a vote this election. I want to print this out, hand it to people who say they're voting for Bush, and say, "Why?!"
I've repeatedly asked my father (very intelligent, well educated) to explain to me why he's going to vote for Bush, and the thing he always falls back on is: "I don't like Kerry." And that's not in a political sense, either. MY father dislikes Kerry as a person. Dad either can't or won't explain why he doesn't, or why that matters, but that's the way it is.
Unfortunately, I think that's the case for a lot of (potential) voters. They actively dislike one candidate or the other, completely irrespective of his political beliefs, and therefore is going to vote for the other guy.
