Oct. 17th, 2004 09:46 pmThis reproduction of Hermione's wand is fifty-four bucks. And you know what? If my father carved the wood, my mother or I worked on painting it, and I made the velvet sleeve and the box, it'd cost less than ten bucks.
Okay, now I'm tempted to ask my father to make it. Sheesh.
EDIT: You know, I think I like Draco's wand better.
COVETOUS WANNABE WITCH OF EDIT: Trelawney's wand is purple?! *pets* I also like Snape's. The Black Walnut wands are my favorite, I think.

Date: 2004-10-17 07:33 pm (UTC)Seriously. It's my pet theory. The woman has a wand, waves it about drunkenly, but never uses it. Not even to do a simple Reparo on the teacups Neville is always breaking.
Poor Sibyll. At least she gets a pretty wand!

Date: 2004-10-17 07:42 pm (UTC)(Maybe the funny fumes in the tower are from some kind of magical marijuana, and she can't use magic because she's too high. And/or someone swapped her real wand for a fake because she was a little too dangerous with the real thing.)

Date: 2004-10-17 07:52 pm (UTC)I tend to mentally attribute her actual occasional visions to a hint of good old-fashioned Highland second sight. Being a seer isn't anything exclusive to the Wizarding World, methinks. Trelawney is well-versed in the theoryof divination which...theoretically...would allow a full which or wizard to gain some level of sight. But it's clear that her visions arise from am altogether different source.
Either that our your marijuana theory. It works for me too.

Date: 2004-10-17 08:06 pm (UTC)But how do the children keep from becoming affected by the magic fumes of sight?! Is it some sort of Hogwarts protective magic for the underaged witch or wizard?!
mmmm...badfic potential!

Date: 2004-10-17 08:21 pm (UTC)I tend to see her as having been at Hogwarts around the MWPP era.
Sleep is over rated.

Date: 2004-10-17 08:38 pm (UTC)Theoretically, this would go pretty far in explaining some of my darling substance-abusing Sibyll's quirks.
Ye Gods I need some sleep. *grin*

Maybe Ron's wand didn't get broken in the car afterall. Maybe the whole car crash was just a cover story. Harry and Ron were clearly doing naughty things in the backseat.
