where can I find some o' those
Anything of real value can be an inflation hedge. Assuming a stable real estate market, property is an inflation hedge. Products that are not outdated by technological progress can be. (I.e., you wouldn't want to invest in televisions, since they don't hold value. But other things, like good furniture, do.)
And, of course, gold, silver, and platinum have been excellent inflation hedges throughout history -- and can be purchased in varying quantities and values.
Another option is to find a way to put your money into diversified foreign currencies, such as the Swiss Franc, Euro, British Pound, and Canadian Dollar. But gold bullion is the safest bet.

"George Bush... I'm representing the United States of America."
"Okay, so, how much do you owe, approximately?"
"Several trillian dollars. But it's okay, cause I just got an increase of 800 billion on my spending limit."

Date: 2004-11-19 02:53 pm (UTC)I really think this guy is the beginning of the end for the Republican Party. By being so fiscally irresponsible he's going to end up pissing off the fiscal conservatives and neocon types. The big split and disaster in the party structure won't come for a while, but it will come. I think.
