What. The. HELL?!

EDIT: On a lighter note, I'll join in the wave of people pimping [livejournal.com profile] little_details, a new community where a writer can go and ask for details with anything you need help with to finish your story, like how to negotiate L.A. traffic or how to get an annulment in the Catholic Church. :)

Damn straight. If it were me, I'd file so many fucking charges, it'd make heads spin.

I would have been demanding a lawyer and a their bosses the moment the started getting rude with me. A sercity guard at Boston tried to give me shit about my bag on my way home, telling me I'd have to check a bag that fit just fine in the compartment and I tore her a new one. Then got a aplogiy from her boss for her rudness.

But me and my mom fly alot (my mom four or five times a week), and I'm a short little blonde.

Goddammit. I'm starting to get hella tired of activating my self-righteous liberal rage on such a regular basis.

Bless her heart. I hope she can put it behind her quickly and effectively. *sigh*

I found an article through my favorite conspiracy news site What Really Happened. Apparently this wasn't an isolated incident from this organization.

From that article:

One former member of Congress demanded to see the written regulation authorizing a search of her person. TSA flatly told her, "We don't have to show it to anyone." Think you have a right to know the laws and regulations you are expected to obey? Too bad. Get in line and stay quiet, or we'll make life very hard for you. This is the attitude of TSA personnel.

That was Helen Chenoweth, a former Congresswoman from here. She refused to submit to the search, turned around, walked to the car rental counter, and drove to her destination. I know that's not possible for most people, and Chenoweth is a nutjob 99% of the time, but more power to her.

Jesus. They did that to her at TF GREEN, heretofore sane airport in Rhode Island? That's the one I fly from most of the time, it's near my parents' house.

Suddenly I don't feel like planning a trip to Florida this January anymore.

That just made me cry. How awful. I haven't flown in a year and want to less and less.

Been to the article. Posted. Got a t-shirt. Happier that I posted there than the Roman Orgy over at Lizzie's journal.

Also...negotiating LA traffic happens to be an area of expertise of mine, darling. You have any question - from San Bernadino to San Diego - - Disneyland to Six Flags - to Pepto Beach to Not-Quite-Tijauna - I am your go-to girl. I know you just threw that out there, but, seriously, one day, sit with someone who has lived in LA while watching an LA montage. In real time, going to all those places in sequential order - at that time of day - would take you about two weeks for three minutes (keeping in mind the time of day.) After going to Venice Beach to the Malibu Mountains, Hollywood, back to Santa Monica, then into Downtown, back to Beverly Hills to Disneyland...yeah, that ain't happening in one, happy three minute tribute to Randy Newman's "I Love LA (but not as much as I like making money off of this song!)".

I used to be that girl, the "I know LA traffic like the back of my hand" one. I'm getting a rental car for most of my trip this time, so I'll get a chance to do more drivin' around.

Hell. I'm flying home and back for Christmas. I'm suddenly very grateful that I look like a fairly homely, underdeveloped sixteen year old girl.

Twas a baseless-- or at least they didn't give Selkie a reason-- brutal, and invasive TSA search and seizure. They wouldn't give her back her shoes and told her it was her own fault.
