Date: 2004-11-30 09:09 pm (UTC)One former member of Congress demanded to see the written regulation authorizing a search of her person. TSA flatly told her, "We don't have to show it to anyone." Think you have a right to know the laws and regulations you are expected to obey? Too bad. Get in line and stay quiet, or we'll make life very hard for you. This is the attitude of TSA personnel.
That was Helen Chenoweth, a former Congresswoman from here. She refused to submit to the search, turned around, walked to the car rental counter, and drove to her destination. I know that's not possible for most people, and Chenoweth is a nutjob 99% of the time, but more power to her.

Date: 2004-11-30 11:02 pm (UTC)Also...negotiating LA traffic happens to be an area of expertise of mine, darling. You have any question - from San Bernadino to San Diego - - Disneyland to Six Flags - to Pepto Beach to Not-Quite-Tijauna - I am your go-to girl. I know you just threw that out there, but, seriously, one day, sit with someone who has lived in LA while watching an LA montage. In real time, going to all those places in sequential order - at that time of day - would take you about two weeks for three minutes (keeping in mind the time of day.) After going to Venice Beach to the Malibu Mountains, Hollywood, back to Santa Monica, then into Downtown, back to Beverly Hills to Disneyland...yeah, that ain't happening in one, happy three minute tribute to Randy Newman's "I Love LA (but not as much as I like making money off of this song!)".
