The Charlie and the Chocolate Factory trailer.

My first impressions? And I mean, aside from the one in my forehead when I banged my head against the wall after trying to figure out how much and what variety of hardline, grade-A quality CRACK Tim Burton is on.

1. I am going to go to my grave with that song in my head. Because it will have killed me. Gyah.

2. Johnny Depp's teeth in this movie = one of the scariest things I've ever seen on film.

3. That high-pitched sound you hear coming from England is Roald Dahl squeeing in his grave. Because, heh, I would be if I were him.

4. That ending? HEE. Only Johnny Depp gets away with that sort of shit. :)

Man, I think I need a Veruca Salt icon proclaiming what a spoiled brat I am. *EG*

EDIT: Hee. :)

Yes, that is crack translated to screen.

Needless to say, I think I'll be there opening day.

AHHHHH.

whew. Bizarre. I don't know if it's a good bizarre or a bad bizarre. I guess it's just Tim Burton.

Those teeth are indeed scary.

One wonders if the crack will last long enough for the sequel (Charlie And The Great Glass Elevator) to be turned into a movie as well.

You should be voted "Most informative person in the fandom" :D

4. That ending? HEE. Only Johnny Depp gets away with that sort of shit. :)

I watched it twice just to see him do it again. I think the movie is going to be great in a PCP induced kinda way.

I'm downloading: this could take a while, as I'm on dial-up!

*sigh* I adore The Deppster, but wonder if there will ever be a Willy Wonka who resembles the small, curmudgeonly fellow he is in the book. Depp is awfully good-looking, tall, and slim to play this role, creepy teeth notwithstanding. I swear if they filmed The Wizard of Oz today, Hillary Duff or Brittany Spears would play Dorothy, a variety of buff studs would play the Scarecrow, Lion and Tin Man, and Depp would play the Wizard. ;) Susan Sarandon would play Auntie Em!

*wail* I can't get my player to work! It keeps saying something about streaming preferences! ARGH!

Feel my thwarted fannish rage! RAGE! Every sentence I wrote ended with an exclamation point! WEAK!

The teeth! Horror! Depp really needed a goatee or something to diminish the scariness of those things. Gah.

Dude. He's a fashion icon from the 60's. The woman who did the old navy ads.

Or possibly edith head. Complete with too tight smile.

When has Tim Burton not been on crack? He's just got the rare talent for turning crack into lemonade.

1 - I've had the Oompa loompa song stuck in my head for decades. This one doesn't strike me as being any worse.

2 - I think it's the contrast between the lips and the teeth. The lipstick looks fine when we can't see the teeth. When we can see the teeth, it's a little ray of creepiness.

3 - Why? The trailer didn't give me a good enough idea of what the movie will be like, really.

4 - Bwahaha.

Actually, in the Muppet version of Oz, Hillary Duff is Dorothy. Scary but true.

Willy Wonka, Willy Wonka....

I don't know you, but you WIN for posting the link to the trailer.

I just saw it. And the song will never leave my head for the rest of my life.

I am so so frightened for this movie. On many levels.

I mean, I love the man, but Johnny Depp is no Gene Wilder.

I just hope it isn't shoot-me-in-the-face bad...
