According to literarylemming, In case you weren't watching E! News Live tonight (Tuesday, 12/28), then you missed Kristen Veitch more or less TELLING the viewing audience that Shannon and Boone are going to liplock in "Hearts and Minds!"

Okay, I know it's incest, and I know it's wrong, and it's supposed to be icky, and it is, but it's mostly icky because it makes so much freaking sense.

And ... um ... maybe because Ian and Maggie are pretty and it's just a wee bit hot.

How is it that no one on the island has said anything yet? At the very least, you'd think somebody would have mentioned that while every other guy on the island seems to be pining for the chick of their choice and hanging all over them, Boone's "chick of choice" is his own sister.

Heh - I finally am able to watch it since it was being re-run - I kept missing it before, but NO MORE! And in either ep 7 or 8, where Shannon is having the asthma attack - Boone gives her this look, that, if freeze framed, would be the absolute perfect "I'm going to kiss you you sexy bitch" look. I almost died.

Since we know that the cast reads online fanfic, I wonder if the writers do too. I mean, I know that the incest has been simmering under the surface since the first episode, but maybe the officializing of it is due to the fan-community's efforts.

You know what's really amazing? I not only think the writers read fanfic, I think they write a little bit of it, too. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if some of the stories I've read have been written by the real writers just for kicks.

Yeah, it's probably not true, but the fact that I could think that about this show gives me a happy. :)

Allow me to be a killjoy. They'll have audiences react wildly to the smooch/sex/whatever and THEN show the ep that reveals the two aren't ACTUALLY brother and sister.

Oh, yeah, that's probably what'll happen. But Shannon and Boone will still be kissing, which will make me happy. :)

I really, really want them to stay brother and sister AND kiss, but I'm not holding my breath with network television. If they do go ahead with it, I will credit JJ Abrams and Co. on their huge freaking balls. (Not to mention their ability to shock the hell out of the same people who think Janet Jackson's breast, Nicolette Sheridan's bare back, and the occasional homosexual kiss is so freaking scary. Hey, nobody said a damn thing about incest. ;))
