Just for the record, it's 11:07 on Monday night and Johnny Carson's still dead. Make sure to check your local morning news tomorrow to make sure this fact is still depressing.

Tired of all of the Carson memorials? Why, yes ... yes, I am. *sigh*

EDIT: I just saw Macaulay Culkin on a Will and Grace rerun throwing money at Karen and saying, "Get yourself a bikini wax. I like a clean workspace." So how long until the ninja comes to my door and physically scars me for life to go with the mental ones I now have?

I disagree with this on one point.

He damn well better at least get more mention than Reagan.

Do you have to scar all of us with that image?

ew. ew. ew. Macaulay Culkin is 8 years old and nothing will convince me otherwise.

ew. ew. ew.

But he was so much fun in Saved, if only for the bit where his character (who's in a wheelchair) was sitting in a mall food court holding a "Will dance for food" sign. Someone took him up on the offer and he grabbed the sides of his chair and started trying to bounce it around by body weight alone.

Umm, sorry to sound like a geezer here, and I think maybe I am even preaching to the choir :) , but just in case some of you young whippersnappers out there didn't realize it, Johnny Carson is a TV icon to some of us. He was a major player in the TV industry for over 30 years and helped launch the careers of many of the most famous comedians of the past 20 years at least. After Jay Leno's tribute on The Tonight Show tonight, I imagine the TV memorials will slow down or stop; but for a guy of his stature, longevity & success in TV, I think it is not very surprising that at least NBC spent a long time giving the man his due credit and tribute today.

Yes, I know he was an icon. (Actually, the "Who's Johnny Carson?" cuts off at about 21.) I'm just sick of the five thousand memorial clips the same way I get sick of everybody else's on the second day.

don't hit me...

well, i sort of figured you knew.as for the second day thing, you may have a point- i guess you must have been *really* annoyed when Reagan died then.
you have a point about the clips that are the same ones they show over and over (in this case like the ones of Carnac), but Leno at least had some clips I had never seen before. One of those(so 1960's! about the broken cig box), that even I was too young to remember, was a clip that my hubby told me he remembered very well from the original time it aired. Anyway, I'm sure I'm boring you now...
bygones? :)

I live in Washington. Trust me, I got sick of Reagan really fast.

Oh, God, I couldn't even bring myself to watch Leno last night. Not because I don't like Carson -- I do, the only reason he's bothering me right now is all Carson all the time -- but because if I had to watch Leno and think of him as Carson's replacement, I'd be depressed.

Bygones. :)

You want Culkin-related scaring? Rent Party Monster.

I stopped being shocked by things he was doing when I realized he was older than me. Less than a month older, but still.

You know, I'd totally forgotten about that line in Will & Grace. Now? AAAAAAAUUUGHHHHH! I'll NEVER get that mental picture out my HEAD.

I thought the one that the Adult Swim crew did was good. Y'know, the simplistic white-text-on-black-background bumper cards before ATHF, only without the usual music.

Also, I second Party Monster. Keep in mind when you see Marilyn Manson in there, that the clothes he has on were the ones that he took to the set...
