Feb. 27th, 2005 08:30 pmThe Oscars are brought to you by a bunch of companies you already see enough commercials for.
And it's the Opening Oscar Clips. Dude, Bill and Ted made the Opening Oscar Clips! Okay, that's just cool. And Eminem! And a dog leaping up and biting Ben Stiller's crotch! Uh ... that's one way to try to get younger people in the door.
And now, the clips from this year's movies. Okay, putting them on that swirly thing in the ceiling? Dude, I seriously hope those people in the front row don't have neck problems by the end of the show.
HEE. Chaplin and Shrek edited together. I liked that more than I should have.
Yay! People are standing up to cheer Chris Rock. "Def Oscar Jam" -- meh. Okay, so far, I'm giggling. YAY. You hit on what I love best -- lying that you don't give a shit you just lost. "Toby Maguire is just a boy in tights" -- hee, Kirsten Dunst laughed. "Why is Jude Law in every movie I've seen in the last four years?" I love Jude, but AMEN. "All period pieces should star Russell Crowe" -- you did these jokes in Entertainment Weekly, but they're still funny. "If you can't get a star, WAIT." YESYESYES. Bush jokes! And they're funny ones! "Let's just say you work at the Gap ..." HEE. Bwah. "Catwoman 2".
Jesus, Halle Berry is wearing another dress with only one sleeve, like she did at the Golden Globes. Is that what happens when you make Catwoman? You can't afford sleeves anymore?
Okay, we're one award into the show and I already don't like this getting-everybody-on-the-stage shit. And Art Direction goes to The Aviator. This bodea well for its awards chances later, if it's already winning. (Okay, so at least we don't have to wait for the winners to walk up to the stage. But still ... BAH.)
Oooo, it's Best Supporting Actor time. Come on ... well, anyone, 'cause they all rock. Aaaand the award goes to ... MORGAN FREEMAN! *happy dance* Awww, that was lovely, Morgan. And short. We appreciate it. :)
