Mar. 2nd, 2005 08:50 am... the fuck?
In other news, woke up this morning and flipped on the TV to see a Lost piece on one of the morning shows. And I saw Daniel Dae Kim and Matthew Fox and Harold Perrineau and then they showed Jorge and I officially lost it. *squees* Okay, so if I'm wearing my T-shirt that says "hurley" on it today, exactly how much of a raving fangirl does that make me?
Also, for the record, so far I'm liking this season of The Amazing Race. I really wish some of the teams would stop whining about how Rob and Amber are a threat (including Rob and Amber), but aside from that, it's already wiping the last season from my mind, thank God. :)

Date: 2005-03-02 02:16 pm (UTC)You and me both. And thankfully, as annoying as some of these teams might end up, I don't think any of them will be near the Jonathan-esque level of asshattery.

Aaaaaand then I died. *giggles*
The red hair is helping somewhat, but of course, now I have to figure out which one the redhead is. (So far, the only thing I'm sure of is that it's her fault that they're Questionably Lesbians. ;))

Date: 2005-03-02 02:48 pm (UTC)It will take me several minutes to calm down enough to rant. This morning I just about drove off the road when I heard that one.

Date: 2005-03-02 03:25 pm (UTC)Tens of thousands? Each year? Somehow, I think this is a slight exaggeration. I seriously doubt at least the 20,000 per year somewhat implied by that statement are both denied asylum and choose to try to stay. In the last 25 years, there have only even been 20,000 persons denied asylum in ten of those years. Well. 24 years, 1980-2003.
Furthermore, as upwards of 80% of applicants in that time have been approved for asylum (1,907,502 of 2,374,277), it's just silly to toss ankle bracelets on all 2.4 millions of them. Even if you don't think it's a good way to improve the perception foreign=criminal, and so forth, it's still just silly.
This is, at least, what I get from a quick glance at this stuff http://uscis.gov/graphics/shared/aboutus/statistics/RA2003yrbk/RA2003list.htm

Date: 2005-03-02 06:06 pm (UTC)How long do you think it'll be before the PTBs try to censor/ban Fahrenheit 451, 1984, Catch 22, Animal Farm and the like?
