[livejournal.com profile] dawning_star wrote up that Sara Sidle/Lancelot porn. GYAH. *dies* If that's what the costume parties are going to churn out, I definitely need to make 'em a regular thing. Oh, yes. ;)

So, anyway, stopped at Sears today and picked up two pairs of cords and a pair of khakis off the clearance rack, so that's one thing out of the way. I held off on getting the printer ink and paper because I honestly don't need it, since I can just print off finished chapters of Monsters of Minooka at work and nobody'll give a crap. Also, I finally got my Telefile thing, which I'd much rather do my taxes with because I've gotten into the habit of doing it that way and I need something simple I already know how to use when it comes to doing my taxes. I know it's just simple math, but I also know a bagful of squirrels would be able to fill out a tax form better than I would.

In any event, I'm now off to knock off at least a chapter before I leave for work tomorrow. And while I'm at it, I'm also going to see if the plotbunnies for the massive multifandom apocalyptic crossover I planned to write waaaay before [livejournal.com profile] dead_earth are still around or if they mysteriously vanished into the cabbage patch. Or, you know, something.

EDIT: Openly Gay Lawmakers Often Fight Alone -- The whole article is really interesting, but the part the got me was this:

Del. Richard Black, who was the sponsor of the Virginia gay adoption bill, said he's not trying to stamp out gay rights but is simply trying to preserve tradition. As for his personal feelings on [openly gay delegate] Ebbin, after a lengthy pause, Black offered: "He's always prompt and, you know, on time to meetings." A moment later, he added, "I think he works hard."

Oh, he did NOT just compliment the guy by saying he's punctual. *headsmack, tries not to giggle so hard at the stupid* I really shouldn't giggle at the flailing moron, but I just can't stop ...

It's hardly my fault there was no cow blood on tap.

Can we start calling them costume parties/orgies? Though that might raise expectations a bit high...

*looks at your icon* You know, I'm half-tempted to come as Sawyer next time because you just know he'd nail somebody. Of course, then I would have to write sex, and from a guy's perspective, which ...

Hmm. I could use that sort of practice, actually. I can't decide if that's sad or terrifying.

Sad-rifying?

And blast, I can't propose marriage to [livejournal.com profile] dawningstar because she's set herself friends-only.

Well, I have seriously been considering Locke..

...but Sawyer/Locke would be weird. Even WITH the Magical Spirit Journey LSD Paste.

At this point, I'm firmly considering Hurley. An affable, helpful multi-millionaire? Yeah, I can do that. :)

You know, when writing Superboy for this thing, my brain kept going "Man, he says 'dude' a lot. I want Hurley to show up just so they can look at each other and both say 'dude'."

But then, I think we all know I'm easily amused. :D

I caved and went O'Quinn-huntin'. (Incidentally, there are a few big photo-dumps on the various Lost image communities that have some bitchin' shots of Hurley - want me to go back and grab URLs for you?) Now I just need to marathon the-series-to-date before the next party. Bwahaha.

Also, these parties are clearly entertaining, because my boyfriend's planning on showing up to the next one and is downright giggly over it. He so cwazy.

Okay! Forgive my lack of both LJ-code and HTML-knowledge at the moment - I just woke up after staying up 'til seeing it was 7am and forcing myself into bed. Gah.

http://www.livejournal.com/community/lost_daily/ in general is a lovely community (with, currently, a metric ton of Naveen Andrews right up top).

Linked from there, http://www.livejournal.com/users/green_queen/211656.html is a VERY image-heavy entry (something like 140+ images, some rather massive), and it's got shots of eeeeeverybody at least once. Some good Hurleys in particular. If you're on dialup, though, I bet you could ask me really really nicely to go in and save the Hurley shots and put them up on a Photobucket account for swiping. :)

Weee! Cameo!

I liked how she contrasted the dreamscape vs. reality. I provided a nice excuse for the overnight hiatus as well as acting as an independent conceit for unfamiliar readers. I kinda like the idea of the bar being a function of everyone's dreamings, it's a neat idea.

*giggle* Minor cameo here, too. Woo!

"Sparrow stole the power cords when he left, didn’t he?"

Oops. Knew I'd forgotten something. ;)

Well, how else could everyone conceivably meet? I wanted to be as realistic as I could while not losing the charm of the party. Glad you enjoyed it though. :)

This bagful of squirrels... are they allowed out of the bag to do taxes? Or do they have a flashlight in there?

Enquiring minds want to know.

I'm reminded of Chris Rock's bit on how people used to compliment Colin Powell: "He speaks so well."
