I totally cheated just now so that I could crack 85k (I got to 85,007 actually) just so I could go to bed early tonight. Oh, I am such a bad, bad writer.

Okay, to be fair, if I manage to make myself finish the last few sentences of the chapter I'm working on right now, I'll at least be down to six chapters left, I can go to bed because I am dog-tired, and I'll get up bright and early and eager to type at seven AM. Yay! *happy dance*

In other news, when the fuck did I become a morning person?!

EDIT: I watched a little bit of that James Marsters movie on USA. *sigh* I swear I'm not looking forward to 10.5, except for the part of me that was bored and spent most of that little bit of movie-watching wishing James would grow his damn hair back already. The buzz cut's getting to me, and not in a good way.

OTHER EDIT: There. 85,616 words, and only six chapters left until I'm finished. If I can do five chapters on Thanksgiving, I can do at least four tomorrow. (Which leaves two over the next week, and I can soooo do that. *bounces up and down happily*)

Seven AM? Dude, you're more ambitious than I am. Holy cow!

I wouldn't call it ambitious so much as I don't think I've slept past eight AM in months because my stupid internal alarm clock keeps going off around then. I can't begin to describe how much it sucks, especially considering I'm finally working a job where I have the entire morning to sleep in. (Although I've started making that early start time work for me by going into work where there are less distractions, as in no TV or DVD player, and I can go into my office all by my lonesome and get writing done in peace. Ah, the joys of being one of the two people in the office who get to have a room all to themselves by default. :))

Oh, yes. Some nice greasy food from the deli down the street, my headphones, and Word. Mmm. :)

(And if I do manage to bang out the rest of the book in the next few days, I should have chapters ready for beta-ing in a month. But the first thing I'm doing before I even start editing is giving my brain a vacation for a week. No thinking, plotting, characterizing, or anything else for seven whole days. GYAH. ;))

Can you do that?

::laugh:: I felt so shallow, because all I could think was "that crew makes you look OLD - bring back the sexy curls, already."

I know. With hair, curls or bleach or whatever, the man looks ten years younger. Without it, he looks his age, and that is so not good.

Actually, he looks older than his age - he's the same age as my hubby, and let me tell you, Manly looks much better than Marsters did in "Cool Money".

On the other hand, the addition of bleach and a leather coat does not make Manly look 35, so it balances out. ;)

Well, let's keep in mind, I only watched a few minutes of it, so I didn't get to see how bad it really looked. Although if it was worse than the few minutes I caught ... poor baby. Makes me miss Spike, is what it does. Can I go back to about 2000 or 2001, watch the old episodes and pretend like they're new again and the show won't end in a way I loathe?

I think I need to watch "Fool for Love" again, and fantasize that they're making a series about the 1970's Slayer, and it ends with the train sequence and then Spike and Dru pulling out of town.

Or maybe I'll just break down and write my fantasy ending for Buffy - where Spike kills them all, turns Dawn, and they roar out of town looking for Drusilla. ;)

Hee. See, back then, when I was just getting into the ship, my dream was for it to end in one of the following ways:

1.) Spike has no soul, Buffy falls in love with him anyway, and there's chicks and ducks and bunnies and even the B/A shippers are won over. The end.

2.) Spike falls in love with Buffy, she doesn't reciprocate, he goes fucking batshit, kills and/or turns everybody (who lived and who got turned depended on who I liked that week), and then it became a road show with Spike and his serial-killing posse.

3.) Anything else, but I'm sure the writers will come up with something.

And then they went and picked option 3, and they did come up with something, and it sucked.

Well...

there's the speculation that James Marsters will be Gambit in X-Men 3. Which could be either very cool or terrifying.
